No Dh has had all the tests. His dna fragmentation is slightly high at 16%, he has fluctuating sperm count anything from 14 to 60ml and high abnormal forms. But apart from that nothing. I have high fsh.
We are certainly challenged. Bx |

In NY I know of a famous urologist for male factor issues. Marc Goldstein.
His website. http://www.maleinfertility.org/new-varicocele.html Also NYU IVF / Fertility from what I read has good success rates. http://www.nyufertilitycenter.org/ivf/ |

For azoospermia, the best urologist in New York is Dr. Schlegel at Cornell (http://www.maleinfertility.org/schlegel.html). He came highly recommended by several doctors, including Dr Werner (see below), as the top of his field. We only have one more shot for my husband so we are trying to wait until technology improves a little more in order pursue things with Dr Schelegel. However, he was optimistic even after the disappointing results of my husband's TESE and gave us a little bit of hope when before we had none. Just know though that he is expensive and I don't think he accepts any insurance.
We also saw Dr Werner in Westchester (http://www.wernermd.com/). He is also private and we felt really comfortable with him and his staff. They were extremely accommodating and helpful, even after they had been paid. The TESE Dr Werner did was apparently not as thorough as what Dr Schlegel said he could do, but after watching my husband's recovery and seeing his stitches I would never say that Dr Werner didn't do enough. We did not like Dr Nagler at Beth Israel. Or more precisely, we hated his office and the fact that it took MONTHS to get appointments that lasted long enough to order tests (which also had waiting times and we ended up having to "bribe" the nurse to get in after just a few weeks) and we never got any answers from them. We got the azoo diagnosis in May and in August we were still waiting for anything from Dr Nagler. That was such a devastating time for us - although looking back it wasn't as bad as what was to come - and the waiting was unbearable. I called Werner's office and they were able to see us that same week after my husband got out of work. He also came back from vacation early to perform the procedure and never said a word (we found out accidentally from his nurse). What I most appreciated though was that he said that he was sorry after he didn't find sperm. So many doctors are afraid to say they are "sorry" for fear of liability or lawsuit, but he genuinely showed compassion at a time when we really needed it. Sorry for the long-winded answer. I hope this helps. |

I just wanted to share a little story...My d was diagnosed with Azoospermia as well. He had TESE performed and we were able to fertilize eggs with that sperm. However, never any success. Our last attempt was to give Dr. Marc Goldstein a call. Yes, he's a very busy man but a very compassionate and caring man. Upon the Initial Consult, Dr. Goldstein diagnosed my dh with bilateral varicoceles. Once again surgery was scheduled. My poor dh!) 3 months after the surgery my dh's count went from 0-350,000. Still not enough for a natural conception. With the advice of Dr. Goldstein we proceeded with CRMI IVF. First attempt with Cornell ended up in a chemical pregnancy and our second....well we're currently pregnant w/twins. I can't thank Dr. Goldstein and Dr. Goldschlag at Cornell enough. I would refer patients to both over and over again. Just remember never to give up on hope. Miracles do happen.

Dr. Schlegel & Dr. Goldstein are both from the same practice. They are both good from all the articles I have read. The only thing if I remember correcty Dr Goldstein does not take any health insurance. I am not sure on the other doc.
