Pain and zero sperm

Hi, I just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced pain and zero sperm. My boyfriend has had pain in his testicles for the last 1 1/2 years right before he orgasms, pretty significant pain, like he is getting kicked. He got his semen tested and there were zero sperm present. (this explains why I have had so many chemical pregnancies since some poor quality sperm get through the blockage). The only time he gets the pain is at orgasm, but not during every orgasm.

Don't most men with blockages not experience pain? (such as men with vasectomies?) that's why the pain isn't making sense. any ideas?

(forgot to mention...he does not have an infection, they checked for white blood cells in his semen sample.)

My DH has had blockage since he was a small child due to a botched hernia repair. As far back as he can remember he has had very sensitive testicles. He doesn't have pain during orgasm but is hyper sensitive. His pain stems from the sperm backed up in the testicle that cannot get out. Often this causes the epididymous to rupture causing further scar tissue and blockage. The only way to know where the blockage starts is to use dye and basically map the passageways. That is how we determined where my DHs blockage was. Don't know if this helps or not. Good luck in your journey.

Hi attrader, thanks so much for that info.

Does you husbands blockage cause him to have zero sperm?

I asked my boyfriend and he says he has never had a hernia or surgery for hernia, but we will soon find out the cause when he gets the dye test which we are in the process of setting up.

Do you know what the dye test will cost us?

So far my only guesses are that he may have an internal hernia that he is not aware of (he has lifted some very heavy stuff) or that he caused it by cycling over 150 miles per week for 3 years.

I hope you get your #1 baby very soon!

Yes, my DH has azoospermia. He does however produce sperm although in limited quantities. His hormones are also beginning to degrade as a result of years of blockage. As far as the dye test cost, I can't say since we are military and the process was covred. We did end up reconstructing but it was unsuccessful and my DH scarred over again. Our only chance to get pregnant is IVF with ICSI or to use donor sperm.

Lightbulb Update azoospermia problem

Just an update on our azoospermia problem:

My boyfriend had 3 blockages in his vas deferens (2 on left side, 1 on right) so he did a vasectomy reversal surgery in Oct. 2008. (he did not have a vasectomy, we don't know why he has blockages). BTW we found an excellent vas reversal doc in Oklahoma who is very inexpensive. His pain during orgasm is gone.

He just did his first basic semen analysis today and he does have sperm in his semen but the tech said they have dissolved tails... a few normal ones, lot's of dead ones. it seems we have sperm now but they aren't too great. so they will be re-doing the official test next week. We tried once so far to get preg since the vas surgery in April 2009 and i did get preg but had implantation failure. (he is an owner operator truck driver so our chances for timing the sex just right are difficult to set up). I will report his sperm analysis results as soon as we get them. I am hoping that this is just a waiting game and that as time progresses, his sperm analysis results will get better OR maybe even with just a few good sperm i can still get a healthy preg.

In the mean time i guess we'll just keep trying because i read the posts here and it look like many couples got healthy pregnancies even with very poor sperm analysis results. also i'm pretty confident that my body will filter out the bad sperm and prevent an abnormal pregnancy. heck i've had i think 8 chemicals now!

oh also...my boyfriend has sleep apnea, borderline high blood pressure, and is overweight. He also has issues with his sinuses, seem to be clogged up a lot, sometimes gets headaches. i'm wondering if those issues can affect his sperm? other than that he eats an extremely good fruit and veggie healthy diet, exercises, no smoking or drinking, takes high quality vitamins.

My DH also had almost zero sperm. They said they counted 3!!! He had surgery in January and We will do a S/A on the 18th to find out if it worked. I am not very sure it did...because I haven't gotten PG yet!! but, we have decided to adopt and if God wants to bless us with a natural miracle down the road we will be estatic!

Good luck to you and your DH!

Did he have a vasectomy reversal? if so, it says it takes about two months before any sperm return to semen, four months is the official results. sometimes it takes 12 months though for best qaulity sperm to return. also it says that pregnancy will occur within 1-2 years on average at a 75% chance.

we're going on 4 years too! what a coincidence. it was only last year in September that we found out he has zero sperm due to blockages in his vas deferens on both sides. he had 2-3 years of pain that alerted us to this problem. so he got the surgery to correct it in Oct. 2008. We are now 8 months post surgery and his sperm analysis at first glance last week did not look good.
we only tried once so far to get preg since the surgery so i don't have crushed hopes yet. he's going to start taking extra antioxidents and supplements too.
you should keep your hopes up because i just read a dozen stories about couples who got preg naturally cven when they were told there is "no way" by doctors due to the poor results of the sperm analysis.
we don't have any money for those fancy procedures so it has to be natural for us. like you said, we'll just see what happens...i just love the fact that i'm 39 and this bad sperm crap pops into the picture this late in the game...(NOT) LOL.

best of luck to you and your husband!

We don't want to try anything except for natural also...

My family keeps saying that after our adoption if finallized i will wind up pregnant.LOL...I hope so!!

FSH male 29

Hello,
My name is Louha. I am palestinian. I am married since 2003. I am 25 years old and my husband is 30.We don't have children yet. I hope we can have and i hope you can help me !! My husband has no sperms and has the FSH too high : 29. We have tried 4 times the IVF by ICSI but hopeless. I was producing about ten good eggs, which finally are three good after being fertilized. They took from the testicules the first time and they freezed for the three first times. The fourth, they couldn't take but for this IVF and they didn't freeze anything because of the low quality of sperms.
Is there any treatment for this level of FSH which seems to be the cause of my husband's infertility?
Thank you for answering me and sorry for any linguistic mistakes.
Sincerely,
Louha
