Saving Money: Fun with Kids

The economic crisis it tough on everyone. Thought I would start a thread where we can talk about FREE (or cheap) things to do with kids.

I will start: dd loves to go to the pet of fish store We must have been to one or the other 5x in the last two weeks. Shes loves to see the fish, the birds, and the kitties up for adoption.

Note: it's the Cooked Play-doh recipe, though this site has others to try, too!

Thanks! My friends dh has SI issues and she has a book with great activities for kids. So my second tip is from her:

Bring a roll of masking tape to the park, or on your daily walk. Make a sticky side out bracelet for each person with the tape - then collect nature things on your walk: twigs, leaves, grass, flower petals, pieces of bark, whatever, and stick them to the bracelet. Admire your bracelet for a while, show it to anyone who couldnt go on the walk, then throw it away! My almost 3yo and her almost 5yo had a great time with this activity
