I chose, DH, Parents and Inlaw. When I delivered both my parents were there, DH obviously and my MIL (won't do that again as she almost passed out!) Next time will be DH and God mother because I had complications!

I chose DH and the babys Godmother. We will not have anyone else in the room with me. My family stresses me out way to much and I only want people there who are supportive. I don't want to have to worry about family politics while I am giving birth

I chose my hubby and my best friend. Hubby for obvious reasons and best friend because I need someone to keep me centred. With my son I just had hubby and he got kinds freaked out and didn't help me with counting or anything.

Like the first time, this time will just be DH. In fact, it may just be "going it alone" if our childcare falls through! I really wanted to get a doula but we have a very long, complicated trip to the hospital (3 hours away) and I could not worry about coordinating one more thing!

Claire,
Can you hire a doula in the area of where you are delivering? That way all you have to do is make 1 call and she can meet you at the hospital. Wow 3 hrs away for a delivery! Our hospital is 1 hr away and I can't imagine a 3 hr drive. Can they induce you?

I haven't checked into that. I was assuming that since I am due in 30 days it was all too late for that. I will ask about it at my next appointment. We did the 3 hour drive with my first labor - it wasn't too bad, but I started out REALLY early. Certainly no waiting until they are 5 min. apart for me! I am trying to stay away from induction because of the whole epidural-won't-work thing. All my (high-risk) OB's seem to think there's "NO PROBLEM" with being 3 hours away.

With Lily we had a room full. DH, my mom and dad, my sister and my MIL and my FIL was standing right outside the door and came in as soon as they had me all covered up.

With Kyler it was another full house. DH, my mom and dad, my sister, my MIL and FIL (he sat in a chair in the corner of the room) and my best friend Kristy was right outside the door. If I had known she was there, I would have had them let her in.

With Kaden, it was just DH, my mom and my dad.

This time, who knows!

Stacey - My hospital only let me have 2 people total for the entire thing, until I went to recovery. It is their policy due to security - interesting you could have a roomful!
