    Why is it?

That every time I feel I am getting somewhere, I take a hit backwards again.

    Today is a bad day.

I feel like I can't tackle anything, but I have to. I want to cry, I am crying. For almost the whole month of December, I have had my Mom help out with Cora while Jeff was at work. Mom would either be here or she would pick Cora up right after school and take her back to her house for the evening until Jeff came home from work. The help was because I was physically too sick to do anything (pneumonia, asthma, etc). Now I am physically feeling a bit better, and *should* be able to handle things.

I am overwhelmed, sad, very dizzy today.

The house is a MESS....and I mean mess....and not the kind of mess that can "wait". See, the house has waited...and the mess has piled, and piled and it is stressful seeing the kitchen table that we can't even eat on, or the constant stack of crap on the counters.

Cora went up for her nap in one of her beyond-tired-wild moments and it wasn't pretty.

    Breathe, breathe, breathe...

I think we'll have good days and bad days. And housework can wait unless you are down to your last clean dish or last pair of underwear! I would just take baby steps. Tell yourself you'll clear the kitchen sink one day. Another day it will be one shelf in the pantry you'll clear. And yet another day the kitchen table.

I would just clear the kitchen table and put everything in a couple of paper grocery bags. Each day tackle one bag and put everything back in it's place. that way you can take back your kitchen table right away and when you are feeling like it, go through each paper grocery bag one day at a time till you have put back, thrown out, etc... with each. Before I didn't care about the mess then I started de-cluttering and DH said I must be feeling better-LOL!

I agree with MAV--one thing at a time. I understand about the house and the clutter and the exhaustion...I'm on day 7 of skipping work and staying home in my jammies. Seriously I think I've showered twice...

Do one small thing--like clear the sink--and then take a break.

    Keep breathing

I agree - I'm sitting in overwhelm right now as well. One thing that helps me is a timer. I set it for 15 minutes and do "everything I can" in one room for 15 mins. Then, I take a break for 15 mins(or more).. then 15 mins in another room.
It seems I never get "finished" but at least I have done what I can.

Anyone can give up, it’s the easiest thing in the world to do. But to hold it together when everyone else would understand if you fell apart, that’s true strength. -Unknown
