    agoraphobia?

Anyone? Everything has reared it's ugly head. Just wondering if anyone has done or taken something that has helped with agoraphobia.

    Where do you live?

I only ask because I found that when I lived in Savannah, I abhorred leaving home. it would get to the point where I didn't even care about fun activities, being near my spouse, walking my dog, because I felt so overwhelmed by the environment around me. After moving back to Montana, the less stressful and less loud environment really helped to alleviate a lot of my fears about being outside my realm of comfort. I hated the stress of a large city and have found that Whitefish, Montana with its little small town atmosphere suits me just fine.

I live in the South. Life isn't fast paced like NY city or anything-LOL! The environment isn't stressful... just my perception. I mean financially we are doing good, the boys enjoy school, we go out to eat and have friends, etc... So nothing is stressful or amiss. I just have these anxious feelings... GAD, isn't that's what they call it? generalized anxiety disorder?

MAV, my psychiatrist explained it to me as I don't like to go out and do as many things when I feel anxious. I can feel anxious over nothing. My meds are helping now and don't get anxious much at all. Now I do lose my patience with my kiddos

Therapy really helped me address my anxious thoughts and I tried to figure out where they were coming from and confront them.

I think we sometimes ignore when we are under some stress, be it good or bad things going on and then it catches up to us in a big way. Then we scratch our heads and wonder what happened?

MAV--I'm glad the Lexapro is helping. So far it's the only med that has really helped me...but of course I still use Xanax to soooo....

Is everyone doing ok with the holidays coming up?

DH leaves this Sunday (deploying to Kosovo for 1 year) and both of our vehicles died...and it's been -20 to 0 this week so what a crappy week to have car problems!! We got my Yukon into the dealership today and they promised it would be ready by Friday...there is some electrical short that is draining the battery. DH has been horribly cranky and frustrated feeling like he's leaving me with all sorts of crap he should've taken care of--like we knew the cars would crap out?!--and K has been a moody mess with everything going on. Things will get better though and we'll settle into our new routine.

I am nervous about the holidays. I have a show tomorrow at the Autism Society Pie sale. Its a fundraiser. Folks like me are renting a booth and selling their goods and donating a portion of the profits to the Autism Society. I need to have one more show before Christmas for my regular clients and I need to get the galleries restocked. I am exhausted just thinking about it.

    Ruger,

Are you running out os sunlight up there yet? I hope you get the car fixed. I am sure your dh is stressed, but you can get it fixed.
Did you have any setbacks after your acupuntcure treatments? I have felt poopy all week since the last. The acupuncturist says its old junk coming out. I hope thats it.
