    Question about Cymbalta

    Hi everyone,

This is actually a question for my DH. He's been on Cymbalta for about 15 months now. He started out on Wellbutrin but had a bad reaction to it, so his doctor changed his prescription to Cymbalta. He was on one pill (60mg) per day for the first 3 months, and was then increased to two pills (still at 60mg each) per day. There's been a huge improvement in DH's moods and anxiety but he mentioned to me today that he's back to having the up days and the down days. Apparently today is another down day for him. I brought up asking the doctor if his dose needed to be adjusted ~ is it possible to build up a tolerance and need a higher dose after a certain period of time? DH feels like he's on a "high dose" but I'm not sure what the dosage schedule is like.

    Thanks in advance!

Is it possible that he has Bipolar or Bipolar II disorder? Cymbalta by itself will not help with the swings. Adding something like Lamictal (a stabilizer) may be something that he could mention to his doctor.

FWIW - I have Bipolar II disorder, and I am on Cymbalta w/Lamictal. Seems to be the best combo I have ever had.
