I love football season. Probably need something to take my mind of things for a minute. I talked to RE and he said that until I talk to my GYN there is basically no hope for IVF. Thre is a blockage behind my uterus and it will not let catherter get past. I was really down but DH says to go back to GYN and we just keep on truckin'. In the meanwhile, I will watch FOOTBALL!

Hello sports fans!
Hope you are all well.
Chelyn - Hope you can get an appt with your GYN soon so they can help you figure out what the blockage is and how to fix it.
AFM - Doubled my dose of Femara this month. I'll be going in tomorrow morning for an u/s to see if I have any follies growing. I'm in week five of my current attempt to work out more. So far so good on making myself workout. However, I now have a toe that is bleeding on my right foot and a huge blister on the bottom of my heel/arch of my left foot. That makes things a lot more fun. Don't know why my feet are so prone to blisters.

Chelyn do you know when you can see your gyne? Hopefully football can distract you while you are waiting! I know this has been a frustrating road for you.

Ouch winklehawk! I hope your feet get better soon! Let us know how your u/s goes!

I have 2 follies around 17 mm. I'm going to trigger on Saturday night for an IUI on Monday morning. I'm slightly concerned that I'll ovulate before I'm set to trigger, but hopefully all will be timed right.
I walked on the treadmill last night since it was raining outside. That burst the blister so hopefully it will start feeling better in a few days. Still haven't figured out how to best treat the lack of skin on my toe. Maybe I'll try Neosporin and a bandaid when I walk tonight.

Chelyn - I am so sorry to hear about your latest speedbump! It's so nice that you have such a supportive DH. Mine is the same way thank goodness. I will be thinking of you and hope that your GYN gives you some positive feedback.

Winklehawk - Good luck to you this cycle!! Question: How painful is the IUI process? Once DH has his f/u SA done, we may be leaning towards IUI after the holidays. I'm just a curious what I'm in for. I'm kind of a wimp - the HSG darn near killed me!!
Cel and Jen - Hope you 2 are doing great!!
AFM - AF showed today. No biggie, this was our month off.
We leave tomorrow for my little brother's college for "Family Weekend". There is a big football game and tailgating all day Saturday. This is the last time we will get to do this as he graduates in May. We will drive to Virginia tomorrow afternoon and I am hoping that there are even more signs of fall's arrival up there!
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

Winklehawk= that is GREAT news about your IUI plan, oh gosh I just want this to be it for you !! So did you go up to 5mg of Femara or more? I think I'll be starting on just the 2.5mg ? It seems like such a wimpy dose though! Please come back & update us with good news

Chelyn= hope you can get some answers soon, sorry it seems like its been one thing after another ....
Lilly= have a great time @ the family w/e, that sounds like it'll be a lot of fun! From what I've heard, IUI's are not really anymore painful than having a pap. Hopefully if you go that route it will be nothing compared to having the HSG (pretty much a big ouch from everyone's perspective) How many more cycles will you do before moving on to IUI ?? I hope you dont even have to go that route though!
Cel= any big w/e plans there ??
AFM: We are leaving to go to Orange Beach in a little bit, will be there til Monday. My DH is doing a bike (bicycle) race there so should be fun, we've not been to the gulf coast so I'm anxious to see it and just relax. I normally dont bring all my ttc "stuff" with but am this time since its close to O-Time ! Have a great w/e everyone !!

Lilly - I don't think IUIs are bad. You will have at least one and maybe more vaginal u/s to determine the size of your follies. For the actual IUI, they use the speculum (everyone's favorite) then insert a thin catheter and release your DH's sample. My normal nurse is so good that I really don't feel it at all and is done in like 2 minutes. I did have another nurse that wasn't quite as good and there was a bit of a pinch, but still not bad. All in all, I find IUIs more pleasant than paps but maybe it is b/c now I'm just more used to being prodded down there several times a month. I have great faith that you'll be able to handle an IUI if you need to have one.
Hope you have a wonderful time at the football game.
Jen - I went up to 5mg dose of Femara. I got at least one follicle out of all of my cycles on 2.5mg. Are you starting on Femara soon? Hope you have a great weekend at Orange Beach!
AFM - Nothing exciting planned for my weekend. I need to get some housework done since I have company coming in two weeks. A nap sounds nice too.

Winklehawk, good luck tomorrow! Let us know how it goes! ++++ thoughts for you as you enter the 2ww!
Lilly the IUI really isn't too bad. You might feel a little cramp when the catheter goes in the cervix but it shouldn't be like the HSG. My doc used to have me lay down for 20 min afterwards. Hope you had fun at the family weekend!
Jen how was the race? Hope you had fun!
We were supposed to go to an art fair yesterday and hike in a local forest preserve but it stormed.
we did have friends over for dinner which was fun. We will try our plans again today but more rain in the forecast.

Hi all. Hope you are all having a good Monday.
I had IUI #5 today. I can't believe I've had that many of them already. I'm trying to get a consult scheduled for the end of my 2ww in case this cycle doesn't work so I can talk about the next steps with the RE. The nurse asked me this morning if I want to move to IVF or if I would like to give injectables a try. It makes sense to give injectables a trying before moving to IVF, don't you think?

Winklehawk - What advantage do injectables provide? I agree that it makes sense to try another small step before IVF if you can. Sending lots of prayers your way that this is the +++ cycle for you!

Jen - I hope you guys had lots of fun in Orange Beach. Did you take your fertility stuff with you? Best of luck in your tww!!!
Cel - I'm sorry that your plans got rained out. But, you are SO lucky to be getting the rain! We are in a massive drought right now. Our pond is at least 3 feet low at this point - I know the fish and turtles must be really stressed out!
Chelyn - Thinking about you and hoping that your Gyn has a new plan of action!
AFM - Well, on Friday DH found out from his superiors that he was flying out to Memphis yesterday for a 9 day explosives course. So that wiped out our plans for family weekend as well as our plans to go to Bald Head Island next weekend.
I am almost positive that we are going to miss O this month as I am already on day 5 and he won't be home until a week from tomorrow. I don't know if I should even waste the monitor sticks - I'm still deciding... DH is going to schedule his SA as soon as he gets home so we can see where we stand. If things look better, we will begin moving towards IUI.
Thank you all for the info you gave me on IUI. I am feeling much more positive about it knowing that it is so mimimally invasive!
Happy Monday ladies - I hope you all have a great week!!
