Lilly, sounds like you have a fun weekend! We were out all day and I just heard the US is out of the World Cup.
80% chance of storms tomorrow (again!! but at least the garden is happy) so probably no grilling. Drat!

Hi Ladies, hope you are all well! Hope you all had a great weekend.
AFM - Another BFN for me. I'll probably be sitting out a month b/c the RE wants to see me on CD3 before my next treated cycle. I decided to take my week of vacation to visit my mother and that is a 5+ hour drive from my RE. Maybe a month off is what I need.

Winklehawk ~
Poo .... sorry about the bfn. Taking a month off to go on your vacation & just not deal with this for a cycle sounds like a good plan. I've done that every now & then during the past 2+yrs & sometimes thats just what we all need to do. I hope the following cycle will be it for you after a mini-break
Lilly ~ dont keep us in suspense any longer ..........did you test ???

AF you better stay away !!! Please, give us some great news !! Sounds like you had a lot of fun things going on over the w/e. The Femara doesnt make me feel different at all, just the Clomid made me feel like a complete nut!
Cel ~ you pointed out about FSH and I have never had that drawn? Now I'm wondering if that is something pretty significant I should ask to have done. Initially all I had was progesterone, TSH & prolactin. Hmmm ?? Does the FSH tell you about egg quality or quantity--I forget? Hope you found something good to grill. We had burgers & all sorts of different sausages Sat. night with friends over. yummmm
AFM ~ CD3, took my 1st Femara of round 3 on it this morning. **IF** this cycle is like my other 2 on Femara, looks like I'll O next w/e when DH & I are in New Orleans. I'm thinking maybe I just need to skip following the rules and have several drinks & some drunken BD-- hee hee
Maybe, just maybe that will do the trick! OK, off to work ... have a great day!

Hello All!
Well, AF showed last night so back to CD1 today - ugh. I typically have 24 day cycles and this one was 26 days. This is a really bad first day too - I can't find a thing to wear that doesn't make me feel like a size hippo.
I am trying to remember that I shouldn't expect anything until at least August. Another couple is pg. They actually got pg before their wedding in April which we attended (DH was the best man). I am a small step away from blocking her on fb b/c everyday she has a new pg comment to make that is cheesier than the last. Wow, I am just a bundle of joy today!
We have a few friends coming to stay with us for the holiday. I am going to get spray tanned for the first time this week. No more cancer beds.
At least AF will be gone by then. I can't imagine having to put on a bathing suit today!
Well, I hope you all are having a wonderful week. I promise to be more positive next time! Jen and Winklehawk, it looks like we are having similar cycles again!

Hello All,
Didn't get results of MRI today after calling dr. office twice. Trying to get ready for family reunion in NC this weekend. Where Aunt Che' will be asked to do all the duties that parents take for granted. I love being the Aunt but I get tired of hearing how I won't understand until I have my own. And don't forget the ultimate "So what are you two waiting for" question. I want to say, "We haven't been waiting for anything, it's just not happening!"
I feel so out of the loop since I have just started with my RE and we are basically in the testing mode. I have to look up most of the acronymns. lol But I know that I will get up to speed quickly.
Lilly - I hope you have fun with your friends on the holiday.
Winklehart - Enjoy your vacation and spending time with your mom

Winklehawk, I am so sorry!
But I do hope you have a good trip; I know you have been busy with work so I'm sure you'll be looking forward to the time away. it is good to take a step back now and then, and give yourself a break. I'm sure you will have a nice visit with your mom and can come back refreshed.
Oh darn it Lilly!! I was crossing everything! I'm sorry!
I'm so glad FB wasn't around when I was ttc...it would have driven me nuts to read those kind of comments! I'm glad you have something to look forward to this weekend. You'll have to share your spray tan experience! I've never done that.
Jen, FSH is a hormone secreted by the brain. It is the hormone responsible for the growth of eggs (and for sperm in men!). One of the basic tests a doctor can do in IF is looking at ovarian reserve. A high ovarian reserve usually indicates a good number of viable eggs present in your ovaries. A low ovarian reserve may indicate that you have fewer available eggs. Although age may be a factor in ovarian reserve, that doesn't always mean anything. Younger women can have low ovarian reserve and older women may have a number that's fine. (As an example, I had an FSH drawn earlier this year; I'm almost 47 and my FSH was just over 9; not too bad for an old gal, LOL!). Generally speaking, anything under 10 or 11 is considered normal and over 25 or so is considered abnormal (lab values tend to differ slightly depending on the lab's reference ranges).
It's not a bad idea for the doctor to look at this as part of your basic workup. Depending on the result, it may affect your tx. Check with your doctor; perhaps it was run with some other labs and they didn't mention it. If not, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for it.
Chelyn, sounds like your weekend will be full of mixed feelings. So fun to see family but so hard to hear all of those comments! I know people are well meaning and usually aren't trying to be ugly, but it makes you just want to scream after awhile. Just smile, distract them, or walk away when they say that stuff to you! I hope you hear back from the doctor's office soon. It's so hard to wait for test results! Were you able to talk to anyone in the office or did you just get a voice mail?

Jen - Thanks for the positive words about taking a break. I hope you and your DH make something extra special while you are in New Orleans!
Lilly - So sorry that AF showed up today. Hugs to you for having another pg friend. Keep my fingers crossed that next month is your month!
Chelyn - That is frustrating that you didn't get your MRI results today. Grr, I always hate it when the Drs do not call me back in what I think is a timely fashion. Have fun at your family reunion! I vote on a smart $$$ comment when someone asks a question about when you are having children. I amuse myself by coming up with outrageous answers for that question.
Cel - Hope you are well.
AFM - Just enjoying time with my parents. I spent close to 4 hours working today, but so it goes. I spent my afternoon and early evening working on a quilt. I'm very excited to be sewing blocks together. Maybe I'll get the quilt top done this week.

Kinda boring in my cycle, CD 5 and just patiently waiting till its time to bust out the opk's again. I'm actually thinking next w/e when DH & I are in New Orleans I'm not really wanting to drag any of that crap down there with me (I'll be CD 14-16 though) so we'll see, I may change my mind. Maybe this 3rd cycle of Femara will be like the first two & I'll O again on CD14. Just kind of in that blah mood lately, I'm tired of thinking about ttc all the time & just want to say forget it. But we'll see how long that thought process lasts

Winklehawk ~ glad you are enjoying time away from work and you are super talented for being a quilter! I cant even sew on a button, hee hee
Lilly ~ booo for AF showing to your doorstep, I was at least hoping one of us would score big this month, ah...well onto the next one. I always feel size hippo come AF time, blak! Hope you are feeling better & yay for having friends come for the holiday!
Cel ~ thanks for the info about FSH, I may look into that
Chelyn ~ It took me awhile to get use to learning all the abbreviations as well but you'll be a pro in no time! Any news with your MRI ? That's frustrating to be in the unknown
Hope you get good news soon !! Hope you have a great time at the reunion this w/e !!

Sorry you're blue Jen! Well, if you don't take the tests with you and you change your mind, you can pick some up in NO. You know yourself best...there's nothing wrong with taking a break and it can make you stronger for the next round.
Chelyn, any word yet?

HAPPY 4TH

Hope everyone has something fun planned for today! My in laws came yesterday to visit for a few days, its nice since we only get to see them about twice a year...we plan on grilling out burgers, swimming in the pool & going to watch fireworks tonight. Still kind of in the boring part of my cycle, I've temped a few times but not really thinking about it much. Will probably start OPK's tomorrow, CD10. That's about all for now !
Enjoy the holiday!
