Apple juice v. Applesauce revisited...and my poor baby doesn't feel well.

OK, I know we have had this conversation before - apple juice unclogs the plumbing and applesauce clogs it, correct?

Short story long, both my kids are very regular. Right now Drew is a 3-4 time a day boy. I got a call from daycare at 3 freaking 30 yesterday that Drew had been crying/screaming ALL day. Plus he wouldn't eat - they know Drew loves his food and he has never cried (except when he has gotten hurt). I called DH and he went to get Drew. We were worried about an ear infection, so he took him to the dr. They checked him out all over (ears, hernia, possible broken bones) and all checked out fine. He was hysterical there too, but he hates the dr. office right now. She was really concerned and told us to take him to the ER if he continued. He was fine when he got home and slept fine last night. The dr. even called this morning to check on him.

He had a poop right when DH went to pick him up yesterday @ 4pm. He had only gone one time before that in over 24 hours. So, we are assuming he was/is a little constipated/in pain. He has only gone once today (not very much).

I have not dealt w/ constipation in babies before - do they normally scream and cry like that? He did have a better day today but still isn't back to normal.

I gave him apple juice last night and again tonight (he normally doesn't get juice, so he was in heaven!). Any other ideas/thoughts?

Don't know, but a little bit of prune juice every now and then will keep the plumbing regular. Hope he feels better soon,
