Man...we are slackers! :) Let's get some updates here!

What is your ds/dd up to these days?!?!

My dd will be 6 months old on the 24th. She has grown up so much in this past week! It's bitter/sweet. She cut her first tooth this past week (bottom left front tooth) and she FINALLY started rolling over. She rolled over 3 times in a row back before Thanksgiving and so we thought she had learned but then she never did it again until now. We were starting to wonder what was up with her! But, now we can't get her to stop. She absolutely refuses to have any tummy time these days because she prefers her back and now that she knows how to get there...well there is no stopping her. The thing is, she really still NEEDS her tummy time because she still doesn't have all that much arm strength and she will need it for crawling. So she still needs to practice pushing up and holding herself up on her arms while on her tummy. I'm just not sure how we are going to convince her that she needs to practice this. :0

We started her on cereal on her 5 month birthday (Christmas Eve) and we are moving slowly through all of the cereals before starting veggies and fruits. We're on our last cereal now so we will probably start green beans later this week. Yum!

So what's up with all of your little ones? Anyone cut a tooth yet? Is anyone sitting up yet or even close? I think it will be awhile before dd is sitting up on her own.

Yes we are, aren't we???

DD turned 6 months Jan 11. We have our 6 months pedi checkup tomorrow (she was sick last week) we'll see what the numbers say. She grew up - and "matured" - so much in the past month! Got 2 bottom teeth a couple of days after she turned 5m, started sitting unsupported before Xtmas. She is awesome at that – bends forward and to the sides, reaches behind her back, can play with her toys like this for 20 min to 1/2 hour! Great balance. However, she can't sit up by herself just yet. Trying to crawl, doing that catepillar move: pulling knees in, rising her bum in the air. Then her nose takes a dive and she forgets where she wanted to go LOL. She loves table foods (pretty much anything cooked and that I think she won't choke on), so getting better and better with a pincer grasp.

No sound repetition tho. Not even clear sillables. I can hear the whole zoo from her, from monkey to elephant, but no clear consonant-vowel combination..

Austin was a month early, but I'll still post an update in July for you guys
He turned 7 months old today. Hes getting HUGE! lol He is very long. Most of his clothes are 12 month now. I got a few things for him at the Baby Gap, and in their sizes he needed a 12-18 month size! Hes a bit on the leaner side, so hes more long than chunky. (at his 6mo check up he was in the 90% for length and 50% for weight, but hes grown so much since then.) He is eating his solids like a champ. He gets a big breakfast and a big dinner now with just breastmilk in between. He loves to have fresh cantelope in his mesh fresh feeder bag thingy (not sure what they are really called? lol)
He just started sitting up with out falling over so much this past week, but he can't get into sitting position on his own yet. He isn't crawling yet, but he sure is trying. Pushing up and kicking his legs a lot. Hes yet to actually get up on his knees, but I don't think thats too far off, he seems to get better at stuff on a daily basis He loves to "stand" when you hold him. Sometimes when you try to pull him to sitting from laying on his back, he just stands. Sometimes he shows off and does it on one foot, lol. He has his two bottom teeth in (at 5 mo) but has yet to cut his top... I think its right around the corner soon though, he seems to be "teething" again... took awile last time for them to actually break through after he started showing signs, so who knows when they will actually get here this time, lol.
He does a lot of babbling... he says babababa a lot, and sorta a mamamamaaa but he has no idea what hes saying yet. He can say mama clearly but when I try to get him to say it, he just looks at me like I'm crazy. Though I've heard him say it in his crib several times just babbling to himself, lol. Anyway, feels like I just wrote a novel! lol sorry
Its crazy how fast our LO are growing up! I love to hear how they are all doing

We're not slackers, just busy Moms!

I love reading these updates to see how everyone is doing. As for Devin, he went for his 6 month check today (he turned 6 months on the 17th) and he now weighs 20 pounds 4 ounces and is 28 inches long. He's an eating pro and now has the ok from the doc for table foods even though we've been giving him stuff before now. He got his first dose of flu shot today and goes back next month for a re-dose.

As for crawling, I don't think he will. Even his peri thinks he's gonna be a non-crawler but a walker. He can pull himself up to a sitting position from his back. He will roll around but really prefers to sit and play.

Hi everyone!!
Ellie is just over being really sick and is still not 100%. She had to have a chest xray last week and has been on antibiotics and nebulizers for almost 2 weeks now. Despite all that she is still making great strides! She has been completely on table food now for about a month - she hated all the pureed foods! She has been sitting proficiently for about 6 weeks and loves to play with her toys this way. She will push her arms up from her belly and she will pull her knees in, but never at the same time - so crawling is still a little bit away. She just started raising her arms when she wants to be picked up - so cute! We call her the happy babbler bc she is ALWAYS talking! We think she will be like our oldest DD who also never stops talking! She is in the 90th % for weight and 75% for height. She LOVES to be held in a standing position and jump at the same time - she cracks herself up. We just love her sweet little giggle.

Looks like everyone is doing just great!!! Should we try to post pics???

I'm gonna post here even though i kinda did in another thread!!

My trio were born in May, but i was due July 2nd. They will be 9 months on the 12th! We have 3 totally different kids let me tell you! Carter was born the biggest and still is, but only by a few ounces since Lilly gained 2 lbs from Dec to Jan LOL!! Last month he was 18lb 13oz and she was 18lb 3 oz. Logan, still my little man is 17lb 10oz. Their pedi is very pleased with their weights and when they're hitting their milestones especially since they were 6 1/2 weeks early. Carter and Lilly both crawl, she started first on CHRISTMAS day at 7 1/2 months, Carter was about a week behind her, but Logan is still scooting, he's really trying and i think it'll be real soon! They are absolute pros at eating, they eat anything from baby food to grilled cheese and spaghettios. They LOVE buttered bread and drink their juice out of straws (they dont like the sippies...) They pretty much only get 3 bottles a day...weening should be super easy since they really dont want them at all now! Carter and lilly both are getting teeth in seems like 1 a week...poor little Logan is toothless!!! But he eats better than they do LOL! Logan is much more laid back than the other two, but he defianatly lets you know when he wants something. They all say mama and dada, but Lilly thinks I"M dada She knows "no" and actually listens...Carter gives you that little cute smile then keeps on doing it and Logan cant move so he doesnt get in trouble LOL! It's total chaos sometimes, but we're hanging in there! They LOVE to steal each others toys thats for sure...but their favorite toy is their older sister...they think she is the most amusing thing!! sounds like you gals and kiddos are doing well!!
