WHo's in day care?

Anybody? How are you guys doing? After a few weeks part time (and, of course, a nasty cold), DD"D" is now full time "day-taken-care" of.

Overall she is doing I think better than me, the only problem is naps. She doesn't nap! It's ridiculous, last friday poor kid had 10 min over hte whole day. She was EXHAUSTED, she passed out in the car before I had a chance to strap her. Don't know what the problem is, it's not like at home she is sleeping in a total darkness and quietness (she takes three 45-60 min naps religiously). I wonder if they just wait for babies to fall asleep whatever they are doing before moving them to bed. Mine has to be in the crib with her paci and blanket. Have to talk to the ladies tomorrow. Unfortunately there are like 5 of them rotating all the time, and I get to talk to only one of them in the morning...

Also last week her 2 teeth made an appearance, as a result she spent pretty much all weekend sleeping...

DS is signed up for daycare in March but we're looking for part time rather than full time daycare. It's difficult finding it though. There was an article in the Toronto Star how my country (Canada) is the lowest according to UNICEF on child care facilities. Pretty sad, to be honest.

It's hard here as well. VERY few day care facilities take infants (<1year). Something to do with liability... Then there are limited spaces, you have to be on the waiting list waiting for one of the "students" to graduate (in our daycare you have to be 1 yo AND independently walking to move up). So from 3 places I initially chose, one I just couldn't afford, one estimated our "turn" as March 2010 (! So I had to sign up way before I got pg ), and another – June 2009....

Plus, there is no "part time" for infants. The pay is the highest and it's only fulltime no matter how many hours you use...

E starts on 1/5. It is with the same daycare that all my kids have gone to for the last 9+ years. It is the same woman in the infant room as my first DD. I know we will both have a hard transition - she is so scheduled at home. Also, she is very nosy and she will want to be watching everything going on. She also has to have her paci and blankie!!LOL!
