they pulled lara out of her hebrew class last week

they pulled lara out of her hebrew class last week and brought her to a tutor. i am happy they did this but never even a phone call from anyone at the hebrew school.

her grades on her report card were E (excellent), G (good) and one S+ (satisfactory which was on reading letters and vowels)

she was very upset and thinks the other kids in the class will think she is stupid.

i told her that her hebrew teacher turned out to be a friend of one of her daddy's great uncles and he is probably doing this because he really likes her and is showing favoratism toward her since he knows parts of our family. not because he likes her likes her in that way but because he is an old family friend who wants the best for anyone in the family. he is one of the best hebrew school teachers at our synagogue.

I guess I don't quite get it. Is this a regular thing - is Lara having a problem and no one is telling you what it is?

Okay, let's analyze this:

1) Her grades are fine

2) She doesn't want to be pulled out because she's worried the other kids will think she's stupid

3) They never notified you

4) The teacher who pulled her out is a man who "likes" her

Why are you not freaked out????!!!!????

Oops, substitute the word "tutor" for "teacher" but I still wonder what is going on. Doesn't this seem creepy to you? Why does that man need to pull Lara from class??? Did they call you back yet with a good explanation?

yes i spoke to the head of the middle school section of the hebrew school. it was her idea to give lara a tutor. she said she totally forgot to call me and she apologized.

she said because of lara's learning difficulty (her brain doesn't know what to do with the information it attains and her thinking gets jumbled up) that she wanted to give lara some one on one with a professional hebrew tutor.

they even sent her home with a cd to learn how to read the prayers.

she loves the cd and i couldn't get her off the computer last night until 10pm.

so i am happy to hear that they are doing this for her.

That is wonderful! Too bad that woman forgot to call you to tell you and you would have had no need for concern.
