    Nt scan ok, but..

Carrie had her NT scan done today, the nt was good, 1.3 so normal and we saw the nose (also good apparently), but her cervix has shortened in the last two weeks from 3.4 to 2.6. Still normal, but not a good trend. So we are on for the cerclage next week. The peri also thinks she is high risk for going early so he recommends steroids at 24 wks, and yes progesterone shots once a week to help prevent premature labor. I asked if it was PIO, he said no, so I am not sure what we are looking at yet. And lastly the placenta previa, total I think. We measure to nuchal space first, I were watching the low numbers, thinking alright looks good, then they started measuring the cervical length, and again, low numbers. At least this is fairly controlable I hope.
30% of preggies have placenta previa at 13 weeks, only 1% at birth, so most likey that we resolve on its own.
Still we are very happy with NT scan anyway.

I'll be having a cerclage put in on the 28th. It's a piece of cake since they give you an epidural so she won't feel a thing. It's better to have it in place early in the pg rather than later when it may be too late. I had an emergency one put in last time at 25w and it was so scary to realize I could have lost my baby. I'm glad your dr. is being proactive and is keeping a close eye on things.

Good luck! Glad to hear you had a good NT scan.

Congrats on the NT result! Thats great news. I dont know anything about shortening of the cervix, but now they know, at least they can keep an eye on it. Yes, I have been told that placenta previa can right itself as the pg progresses and the uterus grows upwards.

Congrats on a good nuchal screen and I hope your cerclage is uneventful and goes well. Better earlier than later with the cerclage -that seems to be the consensus anyway. I hope your p. previa resolves itself - sorry you have that added stress!
