finger foods ?'s

my duo will be 11 mns old next week.

they eat stage 2 & homemade purees like it is french fries I have tried stage 3 & they gag and refuse even cry.

they love cheerios! I love those whole grain flavored puffs. Last night we tried shredded cheese and they liked it. We tried grilled chicken & we had a little gagging.

what other finger foods can we try? and ones that are not all carbs?

My boys are on table food exclusively now. They REFUSE baby food everytime i feed it to them. We give a TON of different things but i started with

cheerios
banana cut up
green beans
little pieces of cheese

even my "gagger" did ok with this stuff. I know you dont want all carbs, but soft pasta is good too. I usually buy shells or elbows and then they can pick them up easier.

Chickpeas (no skin)
Beans
Morningstar Veggie burgers
Lima beans (no skin)
Avacado
Del Monte makes canned fruit that is in it's natural juices (peaches, pears, mixed) so it's very soft
Really ripe pears
Cooked apples
Cooked carrots
Peas

These are a few that come to mind. Right now we're only doing Cheerios and Puffs.

We are on table foods too. Mine refuse purees. They will eat applesauce and yogurt, though.

black beans (a favorite)
watermelon (but it's out of season)
little sticks of cheese
Mac 'n cheese
bits of sweet potato
rotisserie chicken
ground turkey or beef
whole wheat toast
cut up grapes

We are on zero table food and very minimal baby food too. We're having severe eating issues and if there isn't huge improvement soon, my pedi wants him to start seeing a speech therapist to assist in these problems. He does take baby food, but the most he has ever taken is about 1/2 a jar. There are days, like today, where he has eaten zero at all. He literally turns his head all the way around and buries it in the high chair when I try to feed him. We thought maybe he ust didn't like baby food, so I tried making him food (applesauce, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, carrots..) and he just pukes. It's awful and stressful! Of course he's hungry so we're STILL feeding him 2 times a night.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack!

we do this alot! I have also given them a "deonstructed thanksgiving dinner" i browned some ground turkey, made "stuffing" with bread and cooked carrots and celery, sweet potato chunks, and even let them try a little pumpkin pie. They LOVED it!
