really?! How can you tell when they have to go #1? I have no clue when mine go? I can sometimes tell when they are going to go #2. Do you plan to have them trained by a certain age?

You are far braver than I!! Good luck with that!

With the EC program, when are kids typically fully potty trained, as in the CHILD getting themselves to the potty without prompting and going all on their own? I'm curious if it's earlier than the norm overall?

EC'ing is really the adult looking for cues that the baby has to go.

I think poo'ing is the EASIEST to see. the squishing of their face & the grunt kinda gives it away. It is REALLY hard to get them to the potty before they have already gone or when you put them on there, they stop.

We are not totally doing EC because with 2 babies, it is tough. We are more trying to get the used to the potty & what it is for.

We put them on the baby size pottys as soon as they get up from EVERY sleep. Before/Right after they eat, during play, and right before a nap. We are not catching every tinkle/poo. But we are catching some. With EC they don't call it an accident, it is a catch or miss. I like that.

I don't plan on doing this full time & we don't always do the potty thing. Do I think they will be potty trained sooner? I don't know.. I am just taking this one step at a time.

We now have 2 Baby Bjorn Little pottys, 2 Baby Bjorn Potty Chairs & one Baby Bjorn Toilet Trainer. With twins you need double potties!

let me know if you would like anymore information on EC'ing.

Ok, I understand the process of EC, but does this make the child actually potty trained quicker than average? What is the goal of EC? Saving $$ on diapers? Seems like a LOT of time over the years spent rushing children to the potty!! LOL!

None of my kids (twins, then a singleton) have been potty trained before 3 years old, but it happened on their own terms and when it happened, it happened quickly! I just can't imagine trying to rush Preston to the potty in between everything else we've got going on during the day!!!! Whew!

the girl that played Blossom (a show on TV years ago) had her son potty trained by 12 months. so that is the goal, but I am not going at it full time. She did serious Attachement Parenting.. wore the baby, sleeps with baby, nursing on demand- all that. I do none of that, so for me I miss alot of potty cues that an Attachment Parent would notice.

I think the twins enjoy potty time. it is another "activity" during our day that breaks up the whining. We are home bodies & rarely go anywhere, so an activity that distracts them for a few minutes is like heaven. I think the twins are proud to potty in the potty.

If they are potty trained at 12 months, then Yippee on saving $$ on diapers! If they are not, oh well we will keep practicing.

oh, baby just woke.. potty time
