sleeping problem- mine, advice please

ladies I have a problem & I don't know what to do. I stopped my 1am pumping session 2 wks ago so that I could get more sleep. Well I have yet to get anymore sleep. I lay down at 10:30 after pumping/cleaning up & I lay there & lay there & lay there. Last night I looked at the clock & it said 2:07am! I have to get up at 5:30. I am exhausted! I am cranky! I need sleep! I don't drink caffiene (ok rarely & if I do it is at like 2 in the afternoon). I make sure not to have a sugary late snack. I have tried deep breathing & counting sheep. My mind just waunders & waunders.. what can I do? I NEED SLEEP!

You may want to talk to your doc/OB. I suffered from "lite" insomnia after having DS -- nothing too overwhelming, but at least one night a month I'd be up at all hours. Two friends of mine had similar issues, but much worse -- weeks on end they'd go without sleep. My mom had it after having me.

From what I understand, it's pretty common as our hormones adjust post pg. With the changes you've made to your BFing schedule, your homones may be going through an adjustment.

thank you for your suggestions!

we were using the laundry fan to drown out the neighbors dogs but then it started sounding like it was gonna blow up so we stopped.

may sound strange..

I stopped taking my vitamins right before bed this weekend & I slept alot better! I was not online at all this weekend, so I actually got some things done around the house! And with all that I did I was busy (a form of exercise).

so maybe with all that going on, I finally made myself tireder (is that a word?)

thank you for all the suggestions!
