    Mosquito bite gone wild!!!!

Madisyn got bit by a mosquito Saturday night and when she woke up she had a big red bump right between her eyes. As the day went on it only got bigger and we ended up taking her to the ER last night. The Dr. said it was an allegic reaction to the bite and he was afraid it might turn into an infection which would be bad in that location so he put her on some antibiotics and benadryl. He warned us that it might get worse before it gets better and he was right...My poor baby woke up this morning and looked like a monster. Her entire face is swollen, She's so pitiful looking. I have to take her for a followup with her Ped tomorrow morning.

I guess were going to have to put spray on her every single time we are out now just to prevent this from happening. She's always had a bad reaction when she's been bit in the past, but nothing this severe...

    Here's a few photos...

She seems to rub her eyes when the benadryl starts to wear off, but other than that she really hasn't been scratching it.

Oh my goodness! Poor baby! Hope it gets better soon!

Not to hijack--but you've obviously cut her hair--it looks great! How did you do it? We tried to trim Claire's bangs last week for the first time and it was horrible. There was no distracting her and I basically held her down screaming and kicking while MIL quickly chopped it away. I hope not to have to do it again for a long time!

Kell~ Madisyn actually holds very still for me, She thinks it's funny. When she was smaller I would do it while she slept...lol I have to trim Madi's bangs about every 4-5 weeks.

Poor little girl! I hope that it goes away soon. That is a stinky thing to be allergic to! I am guessing you live where mosquitoes are.
