    Bath time question

We were using one of those ring seats in the bath tub, but Claire has learned how to climb out of it! So, I am just putting her in the bath with a few inches of water. The only problem is, she just wants to stand and won't sit in the tub. I am always with her and when she loses her balance she just falls back onto her bottom. Do you think I should let her stand or should I keep trying to set her back down? It's a battle right now, I'm just trying to decide if the battle to make her sit is worth it. Just wondering if down the road, I will regret not trying to enforce "sitting down" now.

hmmm, good question.. Evan hasn't tried standing yet, but I'm sure he will,, He stands on everything else!!

If it becomes a safety issue than I'd pursue him sitting, if you can do the bath standing, maybe its not a battle wort h fighting.. ???

Madisyn is constantly standing up too. I bought a bath mat so that i wouldn't have to worry about her slipping, I tell her to sit down, but she still stands the majority of her bath. Of course she tells everyone including the dogs to sit down now....lol

Peyton stands too. We have a little inflatable duck bathtub inside the tub that she stands in. We try to redirect her to sit down, but some nights she wins and stands.

OH I"ve been fighting with Abi every time I do bath (I think DH is not as strict and lets her stand ). Beats me what would work. I just make sure that she has a non-slip mat... I hope that It's just the novelty of standing, because she LOVES to splash typically...

Rather than trying to fight standing, just end the bath. She'll soon get it that if she wants to continue bath time, she needs to sit. It's a safety issue. Tell her she needs to sit and if she can't then rinse her off quickly and take her out. I know it sounds harsh but it's like when a baby bites during nursing, you end the session. Same idea.

    Good luck!

Shoot, I just make it simple and get in the bathtub, too. But we have an extra-deep, sunken tub, and it's just easier to get in... I don't know how I would lean over! Hmm. My ds never did try to stand in the tub, so I don't have any ideas. But you got some from other ladies... hope something helps!
