    9 month stats

Alyssa had her 9-month well-baby appt. this morning and it went well. She is healthy and doing great, meeting her milestones (although not clapping on her own yet but she thinks it's fun when I do it with her hands). She's crawling, trying to pull to a stand and curious about everything! She's a happy and easy-going baby; we feel so lucky!

She weighs 19 lbs. 10 oz. which puts her in the 60th %ile for weight. I think her length measurement is off since I saw the nurse draw the lines on the paper and while she did get it near her foot, I think the pen was at an angle pointing away from her head so I don't think she's as tall as we were told: 28 1/2" which is in the 80th %ile. She really doesn't seem that long so I'm pretty sure that's wrong.

She's sleeping well (finally 12 hours, although she still wakes around 4 a.m. occasionally for her binky) and loves to eat! I'm glad I was told to give her as much as she wants because lately she hasn't been satisfied with just half a jar of baby food. We'll try yogurt and string cheese soon. No teeth yet, although you can see them from the front of her gums so they're there, they're just nowhere near the top yet.

She got her flu shot (I know that can be controversial but we get them thimeresol free and with big sis in preschool, I don't want to take any chances). She goes back in a month for the booster and will get big sis's then as well. We go back Wed. for a quick TB check and then not until she's one. Gosh, I can't believe that's only 3 months away! Time is FLYING!!!

Sounds like she's doing great. Claire doesn't clap either, I definitely wouldn't be concerned! We are planning on getting the flu shot, too. Glad to hear she's sleeping so well!

Sounds like all is going great! We got the flu shot too, but we are one of the few that we think Peyton reacted to it. If that is the case, then she might have an egg allergy! Yikes! So when we go for the booster, we need to use benadryl prior. (We had a long conversation with the doctor after she broke out in hives the next day.)

Peyton started clapping, but she won't do it when prompted. It is just something that she does on her own. Silly little girl.

Sounds like you have a wonderfully healthy little girl. Ben had his appt today too so I will post separately.

Juls, I thought I had replied about the TB test but the post never showed up.(?!)

Anyway, it's a quick prick under the skin, then you go back in 2 days to have the nurse check it so it is not done by blood. Alyssa's came back negative; I think it's positive if a bump develops under the skin. We didn't have blood drawn so I'll ask about that at her 1-year appt.

TS, dh took the cutest pic of her sitting in her crib which I'll post once he's uploaded off his camera and onto the computer. Would love to see pics of everyone's little ones too!

I remember the TB test from when I was a kid.. We never got that done.. Isn't it odd how some peds do some tests and others do others? I would think everyone would do the exact same testing...

    Weird, huh???
