    Hey Laural!
I hardly ever buy toys. In fact I really need to clean out and purge lots of things that are outgrown.
C's favorites right now are a little egg sorter called the 'Peek and Squeak' byTomy that was her big sisters. And the FIsher Price piggy bank she got for Christmas. She also loves stuffed animals, books, her sister's doll house, and crayons/markers with paper.

thats good because I was feeling kind of guilty because I rarely buy him new presents. My sister gave him a few things that were found in some storage units.

Never. That's what grandma and grandpa are for. LOL Honestly. Every time we go to visit (which this summer has been every week-end almost), DD gets a new toy. It's ridiculous. We go home with boxes that remain unopened. Ug. I should be grateful, but with our tiny condo, it's getting a bit out of control!
We have been BLESSED beyond measure.

I don't buy her toys that often, but the grandparents do! I also try to keep aside Christmas or birthday money or gift cards and use them in the summer months. With Christmas and birthday so close together, she has so many new things but not much new in the summer months.
I do recommend the Mega Bloks dump truck wagon of blocks. DD loves it. They are like very large Legos and she likes stacking them or just putting them in and out of the wagon.
Another fun toy is the Little Tykes grocery cart with some fake food. DD likes putting the food in and out of the cart and pushing the cart around the house. She is currently using an emptied out endtable drawer in our living room as her personal fake food "pantry"!
We also have the FP piggy bank since last summer and DD still plays with it a lot.

I will usually buy something for him whenever I hit the consignment sales that come around twice a year. I have a box of stuff that I've been meaning to get over to my sister's so he has stuff to play with over there, that he hasn't seen in awhile. We don't go over very often, but I'm hoping that changes soon. I spent the day today with my sister and had so much fun, I've missed so much time with her, but we're both busy so I guess that's expected.

Okay, getting off topic here. Twice a year and not too much at one time. HTH!

I am really bad. I buy Kailey something almost every time we go shopping. Which is alot. I must say though I just bought a small aquadoodle travel pad I found on clearance and she loves it. I am putting the big color aqua doodle on her x-mas list.

Since we are on the subject of toys I have a question. Do you usually tell people specifically what toy dd/ds wants? Here is my dillema. I was mentioning to dd godfathers wife that she would like a shopping cart and food for christmas. I would like a nice one (Little tykes). She proceeds to tell me she has a wal-mart one in her basement that she bought her dd and never gave it to her. She is giving this to my dd for x-mas. I know it will be junky. It comes in a small box and I have a feeling is not going to be stable. So my question is do I just take the gift and when it breaks get the one I want, or accidently tell someone else about the good one and return the other one?
