We went out for a little walk around the complex late this afternoon. It was nippy out, but I figured we needed the air after being inside the last 2 days. Teddy loved it!! That is, until we were headed back inside and he stumbled, shifting his weight upwards and he couldn't catch himself in time, even though his arms went out. Centrifugal motion sucks sometimes. Yep, his head went BONK on the sidewalk. He didn't cry much, but as I was comforting him, all the signs and symptoms of a concussion ran through my head. That's still the EMT in me, I guess. He went down for the night almost 2 hours ago and I have been waking him briefly every 1/2 hr. or so, just to make sure he rouses easily. His supper stayed down and his pupils were fine before he went to sleep. He was playing normally too. No bump, just some red marks where there were little raises in the cement. *shudder* The sound, though, when his head hit. Just like a ripe melon. Poor little man...

Ut OH! You should have kept him on the grass!
Sorry...I hope he is okay. Sometimes the falls they take (and can really shake them off) seem to affect Mommy more than the tots!
I am sure the extra dose of Mommy love was very healing and wonderful for him!

You should have kept him on the grass!
Yah..."Teddy, stay on the grass, b/c Daddy is neurotic"...
LOL...that'll work. The first thing dh said when I told him about it was "Do you want to take him to the dr.?" Uh...nope, let's wait for a sign that something is wrong before we just go jumping in the car.
Laural, I didn't stay awake any longer than usual. After the first couple of times of just reaching down and touching him with him jumping, I knew he was fine. I did worry though, for a little while. I'm so glad I have the background I do, just b/c I know the things I need to watch for, it helps keep the nerves calm a bit.
Kat--who could you have been on the phone with to make you be soooo neglectful???? Hmmmmm...
Thanks for the sympathies!!
