protocol change

My Dh(31) and I (29)have been trying to conceive for the past 2 years. We have a male factor and have done ICSI from the very beginning. I have been on The Lupron and Gonal F and respond very well. My first IVF cyle I produced 19 eggs and 11 fertilized. We put back two and BFN. Second IVF same and still negative. The third we did FET and transferred 3 and negative. The fourth IVF cycle we did ICSI/PGD. Out of the 6 embies tested we had one normal. This just ended 2/4 with a chemical. Which they now say we really can't consider the first two IVF because they were probably abnormal embies looking at the results from the PGD. So close but still so far away. The next cycle begins in MArch. Iam on BCP's now. The doc wants to change my protocol to include Repronex, acupuncture, and baby aspirin. Throwing out all the tricks so to say. I have read around the board and see that the previous protocol worked best for others and then the Repronex worked well with others. I guess what I am asking is whether or not I should change my protocol or change seeing that I have responded well. On average I have 11 eggs to use for ICSI. Just looking for some advice suggestions. This is all wearing thin on me and I don't want to worry whether I am making the right decision. Should I just trust the doc?

The decision is up to you and your DH. Weigh out your options. I do trust my RE and would probably go with his recommendations but is that how you feel too? I like to look at my RE office numbers/stats for protocols. I helps me to feel assurred that there is hope.

Thanks for the advice. I really like my RE and trust that he knows what is best. I am happy that he is willing to make some changes instead of continuing the same path. Thanks for the advice. opefully it works this time. Who knows it could be my winning protocol.

I think you should keep doing the PGD. For that, you need a lot of embryos. Hopefully the new meds will still give you a lot of embryos. You should get a second opinion at different clinic. Not necessarily change a doctor, but a second opinion. But, they say you should change clinic (and especially lab) after 2 faild IVFs, no matter what. I am doing it, but its everybody's individual decision. Also, genetic testing for both of you. Good luck!

Thanks for your advice. My clininc put your file up for 10 different docs to review if you have a failed cycle. You can be present if you want. They look at the entire proces and give you feedback and agree as one on a plan. I like this process and feel that they are doing everything possible. Thank you for your advice.
