Yes! That's about how I felt going into it. I am in the 2ww after my first cycle, and my only advice as a newbie is to take it one step at a time. The first shot is the hardest!

Bmybaby- the beginning of ivf is scary, and there are alot of emotions. I hope it works for you the first time.... but i always hate reading when people have that pressure that this will be the one and only IVf try. Statistically it takes a couple of cycles to get success, for some it happens on the first round, which is awesome. Keep an open mind as you go thru this, stay as positive as you can, it is along process and pretty nerve wracking.

Bmybaby- My first IVF was in May and yes it is overwhelming! My first didn't work but at lot of girls in the May cycle buddies forum got Preggers the first time. Right now I am stimming (started yesterday) too.

Thank you ladies soooooo much!!
Jenga - its just a reality of ours....financially we can only afford to do this once. If it doesn't work, we're going to adopt. This is our reality. I'm almost 40 so time isn't exactly on our side either. Its definitely more difficult to be picked as an adoptive couple when you're older as well. BUT not impossible!!
Adriennelynn & Rootbeer - crossing fingers for you both!!! I really hope this is the month it happens!!!

I've had every emotion possible during my IVF cycle from hope and happiness to scared and angry. It's a roller coaster of emotions for us all, and it's comforting to know I'm not the only one out there going through it... especially when friend after friend seems to get pregnant every other week!
Issue: male factor
IVF #1: Nov 2009; BFP with twins; miscarriage @ 17 weeks
IVF #2: Jul 2010; BFP
IVF #3: Aug 2012; BFN
IVF #4: Oct 2012; BFN
IVF #5: Dec 2012; BFN...this is getting ridiculous
FET #1: Mar 2013; BFN
IVF #6: May 2013

Bmybaby-
I have done IVF 4 times and the first time was my only success! You also might have some embies left over to freeze- I never did- but a lot of people do!!!!
We have started looking into adoption and donor eggs-- adoption being by far the most expensive... But of course that depends on a few factors.
Great Luck to you. As one one said- go day by day..... I remember it being so scary- but it is not when you don't look ahead
Me (35) Balanced Translocation
DH (36) low count and morphology

Bmybaby- like the other gals said, you might end up with some frosties! That will help with the costs.
Wishing you all the best of luck!!!

Thank you ladies for being so hopeful for me....its not looking like I'll have any frosties. RE said today I may have 5 eggs to retrieve. My left ovary didn't respond but for one follie, only a 6mm...highly doubtful it'll make it to retrieval. So.....we're definitely doing ICSI coz of the low number of follies and AH was a given coz of my age (39 next month).....still hopeful!!! I cried a bit today, but what good is that going to do? It doesn't change anything, so here's praying for one success out of those 5!! I only need one!!

nyc76 - i've had my angry moments with the IUIs with the ex....ive decided no more. Only postivity this time. I have a wonderful DH who is supportive and is all in with me. I know God has a plan for us...i just wish i knew what it was!!
