    Precautions after embryo transfer

Hi, I'm on my second IVF cycle (last one I got positive beta, then negative 5 days later - so it was an early miscarriage). I had a day 3 transfer 2 days ago. What precautions do you think are reasonable that I should be taking now? I'm so paranoid that every little thing I'm doing could be wrong or harmful, but I'm making myself a little crazy. I work 4 days a week and I have a 3-year old son (conceived with fertility treatments), so it's impossible for me to relax and do nothing all day. I'm so nervous and need some advice! Thanks!

TK87-- Awe, you sound so stressed.. I am sorry about your previous IVF cycle, sounds similar to mine. I think the only precautions are the ones you already know. Just don't be over strenuous and of course keep the caffeine low etc etc.. I know you know all of this. Virtually, if its gonna stick it has nothing to do with you. As long as you are not doing something totally against what you would do if you were already BFP, then don't worry. Carry on with life and maybe listen to some meditation music at night to help calm some of the stress of the 2ww. Oh, I am a POAS junkie also. So, that really helps me get through the wait!

I am also a POAS junkie. My husband, my mother, etc. all tell me that I'm just making myself more nervous by doing that. In a process in which we have so little control, I feel that I have to do SOMETHING rather than just worry worry worry. Thank you for being so understanding and empathetic. Good luck in your journey!

I would say the earliest to get any sort of accuracy is 7dp3dt and even that too is a tad early. I start around 10dpo because I can't wait any longer and I take morning and afternoon tests.

Which hpt's do you recommend? I've used First Response early pregnancy tests and the ones that are little strips (very cheap).

I use FRER also, but I do have a new found love for the Answer brand early results. They gave super quick accurate results with my chemical. I bought 6 Frer's for my upcoming FET and plan in getting about 6 Answers also. Lol!

Thanks for the info! I have a whole drawer in my bathroom with every kind of pregnancy test you can imagine (a little obsessive, I know!)!

    tk87,

The likelihood is that the miscarriage was caused by an unhealthy embryo, not something you did/didn't do. I wouldn't stress. Unfortunately, there isn't anything that can be done to stop a miscarriage if it is going to happen. With that being said, you have been successful in the past so I hope this cycle is too! Good luck!

    Kim
