I am really starting to consider going to another clinic. I have one more round to go at my clinic but I don't have a lot of hope for it. I know CCRM is the best, but I don't know if I could realistically go there since I live in NY. Anybody know what #2 is? Or the best place on the East Coast?

Where in NY are you located? There are several clinics that are good but CCRM is suppose to be the best. You can try North shore LIJ IVF, Long Island IVF (who merged with East Coast Fertility), or Reproductive Specialist of NY. I don't know how far you are willing to travel but those 3 are pretty good. You can also look on SART website and see what clinic has a higher success rate in you IF issue.

I live in Chicago and just switched from my RE here to Dr Gleicher at CHR in NYC. Check out their website. I will be doing my first cycle with him in July. Just completing all of my prework now. I interviewed both him and Dr Schoolcraft at CCRM. I found Gleicher to be more engaging and he took the time to review all my history and could answer my specific questions. Schoolcraft didn't take the time to review my history and could only speak generally about the process and statistics. He said I'd have to come out for his 1 day test before he could really answer the type of questions I had. That was disappointing because I had to wait several months to even get a consult with Schoolcraft, and they were specific that I had to submit all my paperwork and history or the consult would be cancelled. But then the Dr didn't even review it. It felt like such a waist. Hence my selection of Gleicher. He reviewed all my records. Had very specific questions ready for me and my DH, knew which test he wanted us to take 1 was in addition to his usual work up because of something he saw in my history. So we felt more comfortable with him. We also had a lot of interest in his DHEA research which is related to improved egg quality, reduced miscarriage due to chromosome abnormalities, and he works with the harder cases and older women.

jkph: Hi, I'm sorry you still find yourself in this "FT boat". I recall your moniker and get that you are frustrated with your current RE. Such a bummer, but you may get a BFP yet....right? last i read you were banking for pgd, right? I think I sent you a private message to see if we could help you identify the best RE for your geography and circumstances. I will do the same now.....just so sorry after all you have been through, but keep the faith!!!

Cornell IVF is in NY:
IVF.org - Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility, New York, NY
I don't know much about them except that other women seem to really value their expertise.

Thank you all for your help. I looked into the clinics you suggested and some others, but no one seems to be able to come near CCRM's stats., especially when I look at my specific problem which seems to be diminished ovarian reserve. I wonder what they are doing over at CCRM that makes them so far beyond the other clinics?

bonbontree- I had the same impression with Schoolcraft that he didn't really review our records. We actually met with him in person for our consult. I spent hours getting all my medical records together and organizing them. I typed up my whole history and got all my paperwork together. The first thing he asks me is to tell him my IF history. I asked if he looked at my history that I typed up and he said yes but I still had to orally go over it all with him. I had read on another huge CCRM thread that the RE's there go over your medical records and all this but that was not my experience or impression. With what we pay them you would think they could take the time! I will say he was pretty nice and answered all of our questions but couldn't get too specific with what protocol he would put us on just said it would be different than the other clinics had me on. I am 41 and he did mention DE but said I could cycle with my own eggs if that is what we wanted. We are also dealing with severe MF issues so he was pretty empathetic with our double whammy situation (AMA and MF). Anway, I have read about the clinic you are going to and it seems very very interesting. If this wasn't our last try we would probably be going there. I will be following you to see how your cycle goes. Best of luck to you!
