Well I was supposed to go in Monday for my day 3 blood work and orientation, af decided to show 3 days early on my vacation, most likely due to my hysteroscopy last month so I had to go in today for my day 3 blood work and I got to talk to the medical assistant a bit who told me that I'll be doing a flare/short lupron protocol, anyone do this protocol? I thought the most common starter for first timers was the long lupron method, so not sure why this was chosen for me and I don't know much about it, any advice? I still go in Monday for my orientation and I am sure I'll have more questions, I just hope this is the best method for me.

Looking at your history, your RE probably thought this would be the most affective for you. Most people do start with long lupron, but not everyone does. Sometimes something in your medical history will indicate that there is a better way for you. I would ask on Monday what their reasoning is. Keep in mind that your RE has been doing this a long time and is highly educated. His/her job is to get you pregnant. They are going to do what they think is best for your individual case based on their experience and your medical history. Try to trust them. I know it can be hard, especially when you see different things on here. But, they know you best and none of us are RE's.

Yeah thats what most people have been saying but everything I've read online says this method is mainly used for older women, poor responders, or high fsh, none of which I have, I am young, 29, no fertility problems after numerous tests, and normal fsh, I just hope this isn't the method they use for all or most of their clients and don't tailor methods to individual people, I've heard of places doing that. My history shows normal ovulation and no fertility problems so it feels a bit odd that this method was chosen when its not the standard starting point for people with no problems, our issues lie with my dh. I will definitely be asking why they chose this method for me, since this is a 1 time shot for me, I want to make sure its given the best effort possible for me.
