    Low e2 levels and success?

This is my 4th IVF. I have always had low e2 . I have had one success and the rest have been chemicals. I have gotten from 7-11 eggs each time. My e2 has never reached 800. My RE always says it is not a problem- as long as the follicles grow- which they always do. But, of course, it bothers me it is so low.
I am triggering tonight and my e2 is 487. I have 9 GOOD sized follicles and like 3 mid size. My RE told me she had someone last month have 30 eggs and e2 was about 300....but anyone on here??

I don't even know what mine were. I never knew to ask. But, check out the thread that Gingaly bumped up. It might be helpful for you. I didn't realize you were triggering tonight. Exciting!!

Well, all I can say is...you know how the emotions are while cycling. One minute everything is wonderful and our hopes are soaring high. The next we are down in the dumps and feeling like nothing will ever work. Sometimes it has to do with info we get, but sometimes it just changes from one minute to the next. The emotions through this are so hard to deal with.

I scanned that thread. Yours are low. I found a few threads with e2's on the low side, # 8, 20 and 64. Honestly, I wish I hadn't told you to look at that thread because I feel like you are going to worry more. BUT, if your RE isn't worried about it, I really think you should try to relax about it too. You RE sees many more e2 numbers than are listed in that thread. And, we both know that at this point, she isn't trying to give you any false hope either. I know you can't help it, but try not to think about the e2.

it didnt make me worry more -- it probably would if this was my first or second rodeo- but - mine have never gone over 792 and last time i got 11 mature eggs with a low e2...it is just weird to me....does it say something about the quality I wonder???
you can be sure i will be asking Dr Surrey from CCRM when we speak next wednesday.
I have 100% faith in my RE. She knows this is my last round probably and def with her and she doesnt really sugar coat it. I have brought up my levels every single round and extensively this time...but they dont seem to care at all. I would HOPE they would tell me straight at this point.

You might want to ask about saizen and dexamethasone. My RE has me on both to improve egg quality. Saizen was for the first 5 days of stimming and dex is until ER. Good luck on saturday!

Just wanted to wish you lots of luck. I know how you feel. My E2 was not awesome my last cycle and it was a big worry for me (starting on day 5 of stims). My experience was that even though I grilled my RE about it, once the cycle is underway, they really aren't going to change much or cancel unless the situation is DIRE (and yours isn't). So long as the E2 is still rising, you should get a decent # of eggs retrieved.

(I hope you won't need it but ...) Good luck w/ your CCRM consult next week too. I did a phone consult with Dr. Gustofson from CCRM at the beginning of the month and I was very impressed. We would have definitely gone the CCRM route had we done another IVF with my own eggs. We just happen to be lucky enough to be about 100 miles away from the clinic with the #1 donor egg rates in the US otherwise it would have been CCRM for sure.

Fingers crossed for you for a great outcome to this cycle.

Thanks Cathy- it is too late for adding stuff now- but we will see. i plan to ask CCRM about it as well@!

Thanks so much Heather ! Yeah- my e2 has NEVER EVER been high- which is just so weird to me...I dont know if it is ME making too much of it...I continously tell myself that my RE went to Harvard and Duke, IS a RE and knows way more than me so WHY dont i just trust her when she says- "it does not matter- people are just different"-- but it does always bug me! every IVF round I do - i have this post towards the end ! ha! I DO SO HOPE I do not have to go to CCRM! But - i think it is kind of funny that i will be doing the phone consult the DAY BEFORE the transfer ( assuming there are some that come back normal from PGD) ..I lam looking forward to seeing what all they hype is about with these RE's at CCRM! ha!

That isn't as many as we were hoping. However, we know that it is enough. I'm praying your consult with CCRM is a waste of money. Get some rest.
