Hi ladies,
We were told at first that there was no room for us to do a January cycle, but miraculously, one spot opened up! So I am on bcp right now through wednesday, then I'm supposed to stop and have af before getting started again on the 18th. I'll be on a antagonist protocol starting stims Jan 7th. I'm very excited and nervous about this 1st IVF cycle and are very hopeful!
About us:

Survived hysteroscopy
Hi Ladies,
I had my polyp removed last Thursday and spend the last 3 days recovering and taking it easy. My ob/gyn said everything went well, and that it was small, though I have to wait until I get the lab results on it on Monday or Tuesday. Good news is I got a tentative calendar, but what's weird is the timing doesn't match up with my expected next period. So not sure what's going on there. Am supposed to talk to the nurse who sent it to me tomorrow. Also, I noticed they have me down for a day 3 transfer. I'm not sure what makes them decide between day 3 or day 5 transfers, but for some reason, someone had mentioned a day 5 transfer for me at another clinic I had been considering. Any ideas?
Impatient - DH had his first SA last year which yielded 0 sperm...huge shock to us, and after he saw a urologist, he had a second SA just to get a second one done. And that one thankfully yielded 100k, with 10 motile (better than azoospermia). Better news was a year later, at our first appt at the IVF clinic, they did another SA on him, and he got 3m sperm, with some motile. So he has severe oligospermia, which means we have to do ICSI no matter what. Right now, he's taking Fertility Blend for Men, hoping that it will increase his numbers for our first IVF cycle.
Stargazer - So sorry to hear about your last cycle

Ng24 - That's awesome! Glad you can join us.
mbaby - Hi! My clinic always says Day 3, but if you have a lot of developing embryos on Day 3, they call you that morning and postpone you out to Day 5. I would assume that's what will happen with you. Is this your first IVF?
EoE - I will try to catch up on personals later this week. I am still slowly getting back into the boards and things have been extra hectic with the holidays. I have to say that i am kind of glad we are on a break right now preparing for a new cycle.
AFM - I am still waiting to get AF. It's been 5+ weeks since my chemical and I am going a bit crazy. I'm not even sure if I have ovulated yet, which if I have not, prob means we are now looking at a possible early February retrieval
I tend to have very regular cycles and tend to know when I o - sorry for TMI but lots of ewcm which dries up pretty quickly after. I had it, then it stopped, then more ewcm over the weekend. I think my body may have been gearing up to o, but then didn't?? In addition to the chemical, I started on anti-thyroid meds to treat mild hyperthyroidism. Some people tend to skip periods with hyperthyroidism, but I never did. The meds usually get your cycle back on track so I'm not sure what is going on here.
Ugh - At least I have a work holiday party tonight. Looking forward to indulging in a glass of vino.

rainyday I really hope I can cycle in January. Dad feels a lot better, but his rear wound is draining a lot worse than it was. More every day. I don't really know what to think of that, I guess I'll make the nurse have a look when she visits. TMI The stuff coming out the wound smells better than before so I'm not sure if this might be a good sign? He's drinking more fluids so maybe that's why he's draining more? Or a bad sign in that maybe the fistula is getting worse, despite his IV antibiotics. SIGH. It's still so impossible to know what's going on. If I had to guess today, I'd say I can't cycle in January...but that could change.
Vegan Given your case history, they would probably just make you wait and let the cyst resolve naturally on its own. They generally resolve with another period. They could potentially bring that on with Prometrium or some other vaginal progesterone though.
Ng Congratulations on getting to start in January
mbaby Glad to hear your DH's numbers improved so nicely, that's very promising. Do they have any idea why he has this issue? Regarding the IVF, a lot of times they'll put you on BCPs to control when your next AF will come, so that might be what's going on there. And most centers start by assuming a 3 day transfer, then if you have enough eggs at day 3 they will extend it to day 5. Good luck!
2ofakind I hope AF shows up for you in the near future! (What an awful thing to wish on someone...it's crazy how IF works.)
AFM Nothing of great interest to report!

2ofakind - I'm sorry your cycle is being thrown off. When I had mine, my cycle was thrown off too and it was frustrating. Plus, anytime my period is late I can't help but get my hopes up, KWIM? I hope you get your period soon and that you can get back on track. Hang in there.

mbaby - Yay! I'm glad you are moving forward with you cycle! I'm not sure what makes them choose ahead of time if it will be a 3 day v. a 5 day transfer. I thought most RE's waited to see. Maybe they put done 3 on the calendar and depending on how they are growing, they may wait longer. I would ask next time you talk to them.
Ng24 -
Welcome to the group. I'm so glad you got a spot to move forward.
The nerves are totally normal. IVF is a roller coaster of emotions. Hang on for the ride.
rainyday - I'm so glad to hear you are doing better and getting around. You've really had a rough last few weeks. I am super excited that you are going to get to finally transfer!!
This will be my 3rd cycle cheering you on! I'm hopeful that you are finally going to get that BFP and move along.
BC-Impatient -
I hope you are hanging in there and that your dad is getting stronger everyday.
AFM - Nothing to report...oh...I'm working on weight loss while I wait for my FET. I've lost 3.5lbs this week. Yay!

that's awesome you lost 3.5 lbs in a week! Congratulations! It's so hard for me just to lose 1 lb!
BC-Impatient - I hope you have a nice holiday with your Dad, it's always nice to have family around. Hope he has a speedy full recovery. I'm sure being with you will help that along. And no, they haven't found any reason why DH's numbers were at zero at one point to what it is now. He did chromosome tests and all these other tests and they all came back normal. So strange, I'm just so relieved that we just have the option of ICSI.
2ofakind - Hope AF comes soon for you! And yes, this is my first IVF cycle
Ng24 - happy to have another one along with us! My calendar has me starting on Jan 4th, so we'll be really close in dates I think. (I have no idea what protocol I'm on :\ I guess I should ask them)
AFM - got answers from my clinic, will be on BCPs for an extended time which will delay my expected period, last BCP on Jan 10, first Lupron on Jan 4th. ER expected to be on Feb 1...but I guess it all depends how things go along the way. Have made my appointment for the instruction class this Friday. It's so weird, this IVF path...it makes me feel very alone (exception is DH) since it's such a personal thing...and even close ones who know about it, I'm hesitant to share details because I don't want to have to share a negative outcome as well and relive it in the telling of it to those same people. (knock on wood) But I'm so glad for forums like this, it sure makes the journey seem less lonesome and scary. So thanks ladies, for being on this journey with me

Pregnancy mentioned
Welcome Sheri. I'm so sorry for your loss. I should be about to give birth this week too. I lost my baby at 10 weeks. It just sucks. I hope your new donor solves the issues you had. I am doing this cycle with my own eggs but likely will move to donor egg if it doesn't work. I think your chances are great with a new donor!
CindyMe - 33, DOR
DH - 36, male factor
DD - natural conception - my miracle child!
11/10 - chemical pregnancy
5/11 - miscarriage at 10 weeks
3 IUIs with Femara - all BFN
All set to do IVF!! Starting stims around New Years (femara + gonal-f).
Hoping for IVF success, but being realistic and researching donor eggs as well.

Can I join you? Jan. IVF
I'm new here - new to all of it really! So I appologize now, if or when I've missed something or say something wrong!! I just got the all clear from my RE to start a natural Lupron cycle (no BCP). I go in for a progestrone test on Friday to verify ovulation, and then if all goes well with that - I start Lupron on Friday night. This is our first IVF, well first anything really. We have severe male factor - with the added benefit that my DH has NEVER been able to produce a "sample" without (TMI warning) a collection condom. He has never been able to "do it himself" - EVER, in his whole life. So here I am, giving myself shots, having polyps removed, etc. and he has one job - produce a sample in a cup, and he isn't sure he is physically able to do that!!! (this makes me laugh!) So we have to bring some in to be frozen before hand, which we plan to do on Friday. I would love to join this group and have the support and give the support that we all need!!
