Hi Ladies, I'd love to join this group. This will be my 3rd IVF and we are planning on doing a natural cycle start when I get AF in January. My previous cycles have always started with BCP so this will be a little different for me.
Hope everyone is ready for the holidays! Can't wait to cheer you all on. I'm ready for a new year and another chance to get my BFP!

Hi Meg and welcome here! I am totally with you: lets 2011 bring us our good news! Are you doing a natural cycle or IVF?
I am still waiting for AF to start BCP. AF should come yesterday and it didn't. Can it be due to m/c? I am also taking DHEA for a month, and it could screw my cycle? I am ready to cry.

Hi Ladybugs, how are you doing? Are Christmas presents ready for your little handsome one?

Hi Daisy! I'm doing IVF but my RE has suggested a "natural start" instead of using BCPs to start the cycle. I'm supposed to call the office on the first day of AF and come in for a baseline that day and then start stims on day 3. I'm not exactly thrilled at the ideal of an u/s during AF but the nurse has assured me they do it all the time. After all the poking and prodding that comes with IVF, you wouldn't think there was anything that would make me uncomfortable anymore!
My previous cycles have all started with BCPs but I didn't respond very well to the stims this past time and canceled a couple times before going all the way to ER/ET. So we are trying something different in hopes of getting a better response.
Hope AF comes soon for you! Sorry it's late. I swear the waiting is the worse part of this whole process, worse than any of the drug side effects in my opinion! What is DHEA? Is that part of your protocol?

I see from your sig that this is secondary I/F for you. May I ask how old your child(ren) are? I've got a DD from first IVF that turns 2 in February.

Meg, thanks! I am truly very tired of waiting. Hopefully, BCP was the problem for you and you'll get your good news this time

2 y.o. girl, how lovely! Congratulations! I have a boy, 14 y.o. I can't believe they grow so fast. I am married for 6 years now, and my DH does not have children of his own. Unfortunately, it's his problem with the sperm, but we are still hoping. I would love to use the donor sperm. Oh, well, it seems it's important for him to have his biological child. I can't imagine why it's important for him, as he is so perfect with our son?

Welcome!!
I have added you to the list and I hope you have a GREAT reason to celebrate next Thanksgiving.
Miscarriages can mess up AF however that wasn't the case with mine. It came right on target but my beta was still high
So it could be a good thing, unless you have already zero'ed out your beta.

Can you see the grey hairs? My son has fallen twice in the last 3 days! First time he skinned his nose. So he looks like Rudolph! Then today he was playing with the dog and fell and chipped 2 teeth. After a major melt down by me, and calling the ped and then a dentist (his first dentist appointment was scheduled for March). We rushed him to a ped dentist and he is fine. Turns out you can chip a tooth in a good way and he did that. I was shocked when I paid for the visit and it was only $70. For an emergency visit! Hopefully the insurance will pick it up though because he doesn't need to go for another 6 months (mommy is on a 3 month schedule with the dentist). However we do have all the presents wrapped for him and he should have a GREAT Christmas. I hate wrapping gifts (seems like a waste of paper to me) but for him I have wrapped gifts.
I always went to my RE on CD 2 or 3 and I was always bleeding. They do get used to it.

My son turned 2 in September.
BOTH of you please keep in mind that if you want to discuss child related issues you can go to the Parents going through IVF thread (or something to that effect). That way you don't have to say "child mentioned" all the time.

Daisy, my DH was weird about using donor sperm too. It turned out that we didn't have to, but while we were waiting for his biopsy to determine if he had viable sperm he was adamant that he didn't want to use donor sperm. Maybe it's a guy thing? Hopefully this IVF works for you and it will be a moot point for you too!
Ladybugs, did you do a natural start too? I don't hear much about it, seems like most people start with the BCPs. My clinic normally does the BCP start because it's more convenient for planning the start date but they offer the natural start to poor responders. I'm a little nervous because my clinic is 2 hrs away and it seems like it will be scramble to make an appt and get there on CD 1 (and they only do baselines until noon!) but I'm hoping it helps me respond better.

Sort of. I was never on birth control but I took Lupron. So I would have a baseline on CD 3 (or 2). then they would have me come in around CD 12 to make sure I am about to ovulate. Then I would come back on CD 20 and get another baseline and start lupron the next morning provided everything looked good. 2 weeks later I would get an AF and get another baseline around Thursday or Friday, then start Stimulation drugs on Friday. So people all start on the same day of the week.

Jamielynn, that is EXACTLY what my DH said. He would rather adopt than use donor sperm too. Good luck with this cycle! Hopefully you'll get your BFP and won't even need to worry about it! Wow, ER on Valentine's day, that would be neat. Not exactly romantic, but still a great story when you get your BFP!!
