    ET tomorrow

My ET is scheduled for tomorrow finally. It will be a 5dt. They gave me a 3 day update yesterday and I had 3-6 cell, 2- 8 cell and 2 others that stopped growing. I didn't even think to ask about quality but I'll know for sure tomorrow. I hope we get some decent ones. I hope to be in the 2ww with all of you very soon!

    PRIOR BFP MENTIONED

bronxteacher - I tested early during my last IVF. I used dollar store tests, started testing 5dpt and waited for the tests to dry. Day 5 showed nothing which was good to show me that the HCG shot was out of my system. Day 6 up until my beta got darker and darker! I didn't do the 10 minute thing and I still have my tests...you can still see the lines get darker. I bet you'll keep seeing them!!!

special1 - So sorry!!! Let your anger wear off but I would definitly demand a different regimen for your next cycle. We did 3 IUI's & my doctor did the same regimen and none of them worked...I felt like a broken record! Give us a new plan!!! GL!!!

    moonbeam - GL!!!

LADIES - I am definitely planning to POAS again. I did a ton of research last time on pg tests and dollar stores are cheap and super sensitive. Don't waste your money on digitals until you know for sure and then it is worth it just to see it!!! They are also not as sensitive and not going to show pg until a few days before a missed period.

How much to ask about embryos?

    Hey ladies,
I haven't been posting a lot, this hasn't been a good cycle and have been processing too much on daily basis to articulate well. This is our fourth and final attempt with IVF, I've always been converted to IUI

But we're about two days away from ER, it will probably only be two follicles with hopefully two beautiful eggs.

This cycle, each appointment brought frustration and fear. Good results, bad results, subpar, etc... It's been excruciating.

I was thinking of telling the embryologist that I didn't want any details on my eggs. Just take what's there, transfer back what's good and don't tell me any details to obsess over.

What do you think? For those of you who have completed the process, would you have rather not know if there was a poor quality?
TTC since May 10, 2008 (our honeymoon)
    2 bfp (suspected chemical)
    Suspected Luteal Phase Defect
3 laps to remove endo, fibroids, cysts and adhesions.
    IUI #1: non-response
    IUI #2: BFN
IVF: converted 3 times to IUI = BFN
    Final IVF
    12/21: Transfered two 3-day embryos
    12/29: Beta 1 (1.1)
    1/3: Beta 2 (4.9)
    1/5: Beta 3 (let's see >10)

    *Pregnancy mentioned * Possible miscarriage*
I had my first beta on 12/10 which was 105 and I'm supposed to go in tomorrow for my next beta. I've been spotting on and off, but today I have red bleeding - I fear that I'm having a miscarriage - I've had several so I know the signs. My chest has also not been as sore the past few days. I left a message for the nurses but I think they'll tell me to continue my medication and come in tomorrow. I just have this horrible feeling of dread in my stomach! Any advice?

Someday - firstly, I really hope that your eggies will turn into beautiful embryos and so quality won't be an issue. But your question is an interesting one. Over time, I have started asking my RE for all the data and facts, and so if it was me, I would probably want to know whether they were good or bad quality. But I have a friend who is the exact opposite and she is very happy that way. Her last cycle produced 3 eggs, 2 fertilized, and she is now 4 months pregnant with twins. She had a 2 days transfer of her two embryos and had no idea what quality they were. She just tried to stay positive during her wait and it worked out for her. So now that I think of it, maybe you would be better off not knowing about the quality. Good luck with your decision and ER!

I am sorry for what you are going through. I don't have any advice but hopefully your clinic will let you come in today for a bloodtest. I have seen lots of women who spot / bleed and still go on to have healthy babies so hang in there, although I know how hard that must be.

AFM, down to 2 days of waiting for my beta. I am obsessively checking for AF. Still having some cramping around my ovaries but not as much as the past few days.

Ignorance is bliss in my opinion. I have dealt with a ton of medical issues in recent years and it always boils down to the less I know the better. My last IVF cycle I didn't ask any questions at all. Worked well for me. I would say to assume the best till a doctor tells you differently.

I wouldn't assume you are having a miscarriage. I have known women that spotted through their pregnancy and had healthy babies. Please keep us updated tomorrow.

JuliaB: Sending you lots of hugs and sent quick prayer to St. Gerard for you. I will be hoping that it's just implantation and that you get good news tomorrow.

MMMKKK: Good luck being distracted for the next two days!

AFM:Talked to the nurse. We're set for Saturday. DH started asking questions about why are we waiting, won't the 19mm one be too big, blah blah blah?

I told him no more questions. We're done asking questions. We've agreed not to ask for details. I don't even want to know the quantity/quality of the eggs and embryos as we proceed. I'm just going to assume that we have good eggs, strong embryos and a positive beta by New Years.

I'm not asking any other questions
