I.am.so.confused! (P4/Menopur)

Brief rundown of this cycle:

Stims: Gonal-F 150iu, Menopur 75iu
baseline tests all normal, e2 at 27
after 2 days of stims, e2 at 167
after 4 days of stims, e2 at 660
after 6 days of stims, e2 at 2020, P4 2.07

I have 16 follies 10-14mm. My RE doubled the Menopur today and dropped Gonal-F to 75 to add more LH and hopefully keep the P4 level down (if it gets to 2.8 I can't do a fresh transfer...my first cycle it got to 2.4).

I've spent hours online trying to find anything about P4 levels and found only 3 sites, none of which gave me much information. One RE suggested that increased LH may actually cause premature luteinization and hurt the cycle rather than help it. So I injected the Menopur only to blow this cycle?! I have no idea what to think. I am concerned that my RE has not once lowered my meds despite the rapid e2 rise and is now putting even more FSH in my system. We were hoping for more than 8 days of stims since I went too fast last time but at this rate that won't happen.

Anyone know anything about P4 levels during the stim cycle or have any other advice for me?

I think sometimes ovarian cysts may cause high progesterone levels and just throw hormone levels off in general. Hopefully you don't have any lingering cysts. You're not doing back to back cycles, are you?

Also, my theory is that sometimes estrogen levels go high fast because there are actually more follicles there (that they can't see). My estrogen always goes pretty high, and they are surprised by how many follicles I have at ER because some were hiding.

I think the best thing you can do right now is to try to relax and trust your RE. They really do know so much more than we do. You'll drive yourself crazy reading Internet articles since a lot of the info. conflicts with other info. you find. The good REs sift through the scientific journals, new findings, etc. and collaborate with others in the field to make the best choices possible based on what is currently known.

Good luck with your cycle! Keep drinking lots of electrolyte drinks to avoid OHSS with those high estrogen levels, and you should be okay.
