oct-nov ivf cycles

Just wondering if anyone else is starting IVF now.

I am doing my 1st IVF with Lupron starting 10/23 & then Follistim 10/24.

I am a little nervous and would love to hear from other that are doing IVF around this time as well!

Hi! I am doing my first cycle Oct-Nov as well. I started Lupron on 10/14 and the stims will begin on 10/26. I am a little nervous, too. I did do an IUI a few months ago (BFN). It's weird, but I was even more nervous for the IUI - also a first. I think now I know more about what to expect, and the injections are not so scary since I'm kind of used to them. I also have a great nurse now who is wonderful about answering questions, so that makes me feel better about things.

If you start stims on 10/26 we might be real close on our ER dates.

I have done 3 previous IUIs, 2 with injectables so the shots won't be so bad, other than the # of shots a day. Not sure what your protocol is but Once I start stims I will be doing 4 shots a day!

I think the IVF just seems like so much stuff, so many steps to get through.

I will try and keep you posted about my progress, so let me know how yours goes too.

How is the Lupron making you feel?

FlyGal and Pye314...we have quite a group of gals that are cycling right now over on the Pumpkin Babes thread. We start a new thread each week, so the current one is Pumpkin Babes 10/18. most everyone is going through their first IVF, but there are a few that have been through it before. you both seem to be right in the vacinity of the rest of us and would be welcome to join. there is a lot of good info, tips and support offered.

Thanks - I'll visit the Pumpkin Babes thread as well!

Pye,

I feel like the IVF is a lot of steps too. I didn't feel much different on the Lupron until yesterday, when I got furious at my husband for something
silly. I'm blaming the Lupron, but honestly, today my emotions are on a much more even keel. I haven't had any of the hot flashes or headaches
I had heard about as side effects. When I start stims, I'll still have to do the Lupron, then add Menopur and Bravelle. There might be something
else, too - they're going to give me another tutorial when I go in for my baseline U/S. My nurse did say I could mix it all together into one shot.
How about you?

My RE is having me do Lupron 2x a day starting on Friday and then on Saturday I add Follistim 2x a day, so a total of 4 shots.

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting, so I hope I do it correctly!
This is our first IVF attempt, and I started my Lupron shots on 10/17. Yesterday, I got such a severe headache that I ended up throwing up. Not pleasant at all! Has this happened to anyone else?? I talked with the nurse, and she said headaches were likely to happen until I started the follistim. Seriously? I had to leave work early yesterday because I was in so much pain!!
I am so excited for this whole crazy IVF process, my husband and I have been ttc for 4 years, and I am really praying that this is the answer to all of our hopes and dreams...and I'm excited that there are so many others out there going through the same thing.
