When to stop...

How many cycles of injectables would you do (if money/insurance were provided) before you would decide to stop because of the uncertainty regarding the risks of ovarian, breast, and endometrial cancers?

I suppose after 6 fresh cycles I'd start looking seriously into adoption. In real life I suppose we will use up our 4 fresh cycles and maybe pay out of pocket for 1 or 2 fets. Not necessarily because of cancer but just because it is so rough on us in every way imaginable.

Honestly I am not sure maybe at 4-6 fresh cycles, I guess it really depends on how I feel emotionally after my first cycle this month. I have also heard women who have never been pregnant have a higher risk of these cancers anyway so what have you got to lose, right?? I think if I never tried I would be angry with myself but everyone has their limit. I think all us women who are trying are strong because some if not most women who are diagnosed with IF never do try out of fear, that says a lot about us

Success mentioned

Well, if an IUI cycle with injectibles "counts" I'm already over the 8... And, if I had stopped at anything under 8, I never would have had success.

IMHO, I'm certainly going to die anyway -- at least now I get to enjoy my time here with my kids.

Looks like our "go for it" girls are winning! It's true- we're all gonna die someday anyway.
