i hope someone can help here frustrated with RE
Hi I started my stims and had my 6 day US with blood and tht Re said I think maybe at the most you will have seven eggs. So then I went to day nine US blood on Fri and they still only saw seven at the most eggs ( which by his tone he stressed at the most) my e2 was 499 up from 133 on day 6.Why didn't they up my meds on days 6 when they saw such little activity? I go in tomorrow morning and I wonder if any of you can help me with questions to ask? I 've done IVF before approx two years ago and had 21 eggs why would they change what worked last time. I feel like this already going to be BFN and Dh is done with all the cost involved. ugghhh I wasn't even looking for 21 eggs but was hoping for at least 10 to work with. Any questions that I should ask tomorrw my e2 even seems low compared to alot of you.

I would recommend considering if it is worth going on with the retrieval and transfer. Maybe you can use the money saved on those and go on to a cycle where you have a better success rate. I had a failed cycle in august with a similar situation. I knew from the first ultrasound that it was a bust. The number of eggs in u/s actually decreased and my e2 was only 621 when it shouldve been, according the dr, between 1000-2000.
I just kinda glided through and did what i was told, but after my BFN, and a consult with my primary re(there are 3 in the practice and they rotate, mine did not over see my ivf), he said looking back at my poor response, he feels it shouldve been cancelled. That my chance of success was very low anyways. I just wish someone had said "hey! maybe you shouldve completel the cycle.". I was just so excited that i went against my gut feeling. I also questioned why my meds werent tweaked when they saw how poor my response was. Good luck and keep us posted!

I don't know what protocol you are on or how you will continue to stim. I would just talk to your RE as to why he did not increase your protocol. While your number of eggs may have gone down, perhaps the quality is better. I would hesitate to cancel your cycle unless your RE thinks you will have a much better response next time. |

Ocean View,
The reason they don't up meds early in a cycle is that some people are "slow stimmers" who start out slow and then shoot forward quickly. People with PCOS are notorious slow-stimmers. That could be why they were going slow and steady. I assume you are now coming to the end of your stim. How did it go?
