Question New IVF'r with ET last Fri 5/22 - TESE/ICSI case

    Hi everyone!

I really do not know what I am doing, so please bear with me.

We started this IVF journey a couple weeks ago after this being our only hope for having a biological child. We are hopeful and with an army of friends and family praying for us, we have faith we will be allowed the privilege of parenthood.

We had both TESE and ER last Tues 5/19 and ET last Fri 5/22.

Currently under strict bedrest with 4 embies in the oven.

They retrieved 12 eggs, but only 7 were fertilized. And only 4 were transferred and 3 will be hopefully frozen.

We are anxious, nervous and a little freaked out about this whole thing. Looking for support in this process as we know we have just started on this crazy journey!

Am I in the right forum for support and advice?

kingtaco: You are in the right place!

Girls, I am a little freaked out over my converted IUI. I chart my temps and I had the classic O dip, but my temp. has not risen appropriately post O. I am fearful that the egg did not release or something. AHHHHHHH!!!!! I am going to call tomorrow for a progesterone blood test. Of course, if my temp. rises tomorrow, maybe I will calm down.

    Hey New
I am doing progesterone suppositiories four times a day basically evey 4.5 hours, It is sort of a pain but since there is no sex happening around here due to the mild OHSS my RE said no activity until the bloating comes down. I do think the progesterone is inducing some extra bloating (OHSS) I am also still taking asparin daily and estrogen twice a day. I was told this would continue until week 12. My progesterone is 100mg I heard you can get them in 200mg. When I see my RE next week I will ask about a high dose. What are you going to do??

New- thanks a bunch for the good wishes:-) we will be tranferring 2 if I have that many! I am getting so excited!! And on the progest shots, yes totally normal and you will be very sore where you shot it. But I have found that each shot gets easier and less painful the next day.

    Baby- how was E/R??

Good luck to everyone and lots of baby dust!!!

Thanks for the well wishes everybody. I am so relieved to have made it this far and excited and nervous about ER tomorrow. I really had no idea just how hard it has been for me to overcome my needle phobia until I had my last shot last night and then today the nurse pointed out it was my last bloodtest until over a week from now and then I cried like a baby from relief. It was really hard to get through, but I am really proud of myself that I did it, and ultimately so worth it. I've still got the IV stick for ER tomorrow, but then I can take a rest from the needles. Now I can just worry about the outcome of the cycle like everybody else!

dhavard - g/l with beta tomorrow.

newinhouston - so happy for you! That is such awesome news.

sbing - i'm excited about your transfer tomorrow. G/L!

MichelleXOXO - I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as well. We'll do great!

Good night, all. I hope to have a good report for you tomorrow.

hey ladies thanks for all your prayers and good luck. I tried posting on cell phone but I guess it didnt mae it to the board. My ER was this morning at 9am. it went good I guess. They retrieved 12 eggs that was all from right ovary. I dont think they attempted the left since they said it was to high up. Was feeling crampy so they gave me some morphine in recovry, which helped alot. Tonight was my first dose of POI which was really scary just looking at the needle. Iced area and applied heating par per RE directions.
To michele and thesearms best of luck in the am, hope you have many eggs.

    Hi,
Hope everyone is doing good! I have a funny story that I thought I would share with you. So, since egg retrieval I've been taking the progesterone shots everyday in my butt...so far my mom or my sister has given them to me. My DH wouldn't even watch me give myself the subcutaneous stims in my belly. I had no problem with those, but the progesterone is a different story. Anyway, my mom & sister weren't available tonight, so DH had to step up to the plate. It was hilarious..he had to sit on the couch and he couldn't believe how far he had to push the needle in. He chickened out a few times, and then I basically stuck the needle in and he was able to push the med in, I thought he might pass out! I have never laughed so hard while getting a shot! Just wanted to share.

Embryo transfer is tomorrow at noon. As of yesterday, we had 10 embies.. they told me they don't look at them or grade them on day 4 b/c they are undergoing compaction...??

Wish-you are definitely doing an awesome job with the board!

    Good luck to all,
    Rachel
