IVF Bloatedness Question

Hello everyone! I am very new to this forum and decided to join because I started IVF and knew I would have loads of questions. I am currently on my IVF 2WW, embryo transfer was on Monday and egg retrieval on Weds, a week ago from today. My question is, how long does this bloated feeling last?! I am sooo uncomfortable. It's not OHSS because I can breathe normally, I am not nauseous, I feel pretty good, and the Dr checked me out on Monday before my egg transfer, but when I eat, even if it's a small salad and water or something like that I feel like my tummy is about to burst. I also look like I'm pregnant already the way it's sticking out. I feel bloated 24/7 but when I eat it gets 10 times worse. I feel like I've had the biggest meal in my life and it's just so uncomfortable. I am also on progesterone oil shots and vaginal suppositories, not sure if those cause bloatness. I am not constipated because I'm going #2 every day, but I don't feel regular like I did before egg retrieval.

Any idea as to how long this very uncomfortable feeling lasts? Thanks in advance!

hi,
Can't really help you out but look forward to hearing some answers. I go for my transfer tomorrow and have mild OHSS (don't have any of the other symptoms other than the ultrasound shows follicles growing) Did your doctor do ultrasounds? If it is that implantation can make it worse because of all the hormones...so your bloated belly could be a good thing. Just make sure you stay hydrated, maybe even try each some salty foods and drinking lots of water. So you have beta in 6 days? Will you POAS? GL

Hi melican! Thanks for the reply! My Dr did do an ultrasound and said everything looked good, which is why he proceeded with the ET. Someone was actually telling me the same thing you mention here, that if the embryos implant it may flare up the bloaty feeling, so fingers crossed its a positive outcome!

I am drinking lots of water and taking it easy, and that all seems to be helping a little, so that's good!

Yes, beta is in 6 days and I am going crazy already, lol! I want to POAS sooo bad, but based on my 3 previous IUI BFN's and the way I reacted, I may just wait until the blood test on Weds morning, lol!

Lots of luck to you at your transfer tomorrow!
