rysmom--The class was very informative. I was so overwhelmed by all the needles. I still can not believe we are doing this. It feels like I am a different person when I think about going through with all of those drugs and this whole thing. I can't explain it but anyway. I hope you have a great vacation. Good luck with the lupron. Let us know how it went when you get back.

    Venting!!

First, let me say HELLO to our newest member! Donna - so wonderful to have you in our group. Please send me your age, what number cycle, and some of your dates (ET/ER etc) and I will get you on the list.

NOW FOR THE VENTING!!! I have been attempting to deal with my insurance company all day. I am at my wits end. Apparently I have coverage for the medication. I didn't know that last time and paid out of pocket. When I found out, I submitted the bills for reimbursement. Coverage was denied because I didn't use THEIR pharmacy. So this time, I call the ahead of time and the insurance company told me " Do XY&Z to get coverage." I called my doctors office and asked them to please do XY&Z. They immediately did. And guess what... coverage was denied. I call the insurance company to figure out what happened and they said, "I don't know who told you to do XY&Z because you have to do AB&C to get coverage." I said "surely there is a way that you can get me to AB&C." They said "NOPE. START THE PROCESS OVER!" Then I got pissed and said, "I don't understand why you guys can't sort cut this considering it is/was your mistake to begin with." The customer service guy YELLED at me and HUNG UP! I am seriously about to explode with rage.

aswanson - Thank you for the warm welcome! It's so great to be a part of your group!

Now about the ins co..ughh! Sounds like mine they are always saying do this that and the other thing then I make sure I do that and next thing I find something isnt approved. The way I have dealt with this in the past is to ask for a Manager and tell them what is going on with getting told to do this and that and then get told its not covered. They will resolve it! I hate ins co's all they do is add more stress to your life!!!!!!!! So sorry you have to go through that! I hope you get it all worked out soon!

Oops I almost forgot! I'm 40yrs old. I did my first ivf cycle last year and conceived my ds. I am now doing ivf #2. I will be in a study this time at the clinic I went to before. It's comparing a new progesterone ring to the crinone gel. I won't know which group Im in until the day of retrieval when they hand me a paper. I am not sure of my dates as of yet, since I haven't started bcps yet and not really sure how long all the other stuff takes etc yet. As soon as I know I will let you know! Thanks!

Donna - I am so glad to 1) have a veteran and 2) have someone that has had success! That's wonderful. I hope that you get a BFP this time around too!

My biggest problem with the insurance company is that the nurse at my RE's office is fed up with spending all of her time trying to get coverage for me. She probably spent several hours doing everything I told her to do this week. And now, I have to call her back and say "sorry, that was a complete waste of time, can you please redo everything but do it this way instead." I feel horrible and I can tell that she is getting impatient with me and this process. The last thing I want to do is piss off my RE's office. The guy that hung up on me WAS the manager. I had been talking to him for about 1 minute and he started yelling at me telling me there was nothing he could do about the fact that they gave me bogus information to begin with and I was just going to have to do everything over. "Just deal with it" was basically what he said and then he hung up. I hate them!

The funny thing is, I am a litigation attorney. I argue ALL DAY LONG with people as part of my job. The LAST thing I want to do is argue when I get home! I need a glass of wine!

aswanson - Thanks again for the kind words! I hope you get your BFP also!

Unbelievable! That was the Manager!! I hope you got his name! I would call back and ask for his boss!! Maybe I should have been a lawyer at least I would get paid for my fiestiness lol...I hear you though, you shouldn't have to fight about this stuff. I wouldn't worry about the nurse, that's her job. It's not your fault your ins co are jerks! I'm sure you're not the only one this has happened to. They deal with this all the time!! I would just have your glass of wine and enjoy the rest of your evening. Tomorrow is another day! Do let us know what the nurse says! Best of luck!

donna - welcome to our group! so nice to add another person to our growing group!!

amy - i can't believe the insurance craziness you are going through! I agree with Donna...it's the nurse's job to do this for you so even though it's natural to feel bad, try not to feel too bad asking her to start all over again. I hope it all gets worked out!

AFM - On day 8 of Lupron. I know I said I hadn't experienced any side effects but I've been at the beach all week basically living in bathing suits and comfy clothes. I went to put on some pants today and had trouble getting two different pairs on! I thought maybe it was the food I've been eating but they were really hard to get on. I just looked up side effects and saw that fluid retention is one so I'm thinking that's what's making it so hard. My stomach has definitely rounded a bit this week and my thighs grew a few inches...it can't all be from the bagels, brownies, and beer...especially since I've been boogie boarding my butt off all week and that's good exercise! I'm going to start limiting my salt intake and I'll see if that helps at all. Glad to say I haven't had any headaches though...I've heard a lot of people have had bad headaches while taking Lupron. I'll be heading back home on Sunday so I'll be able to write on a more regular basis!

Thank you hkbuck! So glad to be a part of your group!

I'm glad you arent getting headaches from the Lupron I never did either. Now I know where my weight came from before. I didn't realize lupron could do that - I thought it was only the stims/progesterone that did that!! What we go through huh!! How much longer are you doing the lupron? Best of luck!

I'm on Lupron for 3 weeks. It was supposed to be two weeks but DH and I are flying to Michigan for a wedding labor day weekend and my RE didn't want me to be in the middle of the stims at that point so she pushed it back a week, adding one more week of Lupron. So now I'll be starting the stims Labor Day weekend, if all goes well. I'll find out on 8/25 if my nagging cyst has gone away!
