I have been prescribed Progesterone vaginal capsule...never used a capsule vaginally before!
Stupid question ....How do I know how far to reach (I am not a tampon user) & that it wont fall out? Does an applicator help?

I thought it was pretty weird the first time too. For the pills/capsules you shouldn't need an applicator. Just stick it in as far as is comfortable-- like a finger length or so?. I liked to lie down for a little while before getting up-- but that's not strictly speaking necessary I've heard. A little will leak out, so you may want to wear a panty liner. But it doesn't fall out (and if it did, somehow, well just stick it back). I promise after a day or so it won't seem so crazy. It's amazing the things we get used to, huh?

This cycle I have been using the progesterone capsules 2X a day and I insert 1 at night as soon as I get into bed and then I set the alarm a little early so I can get up to use the bathroom then get back into bed and insert 1. I usually stay in bed about 30 minutes before getting up. My doctor told me the medicine absorbs within 20-30 minutes of inserting. You definitely want to use a pantyliner especially in the morning because you will have the remnants leak out (my pills are yellow). Depending on how many doses a day you take you might need to change a little. I tried using a tampon applicator to insert it but found due to the shape of the capsule it was easier to use my finger. Hope that helps.
