pinder- Great news!!! You are doubling pretty fast too!

I am so impressed with all the ++++ HPT's It seems like this group is going to have quite a high % of successes.

    congrats to all.

To everyone else still waiting, I am feeling for you. But on the bright side, most everyone should know what is going on by this time next week.

    How exciting.

ladybug- hang in there, you had two amazing hatched blasts, you just have to have a good outcome. Keep the faith.

We have just about decided that we will try again. We had initially decided that we would only try one cycle, and even a week ago, still felt the same, but it is amazing what a BFN does to your outlook. Amazingly, almost exactly 48 hours after last PIO, AF came a knockin. So i am planning on Feb to be my detox month, then back on BCP's for March, and I am hoping that our BFP will come in April.

I cannot decide if I will use the same RE or not. My initial reaction is not to, I HATE his nurse for so many reasons, and neither of them are very forthcoming about anything. It is like, we are the experts, shut up and let us do our thing. Which just doesnt fly well for me. Plus, remember, half of my eggs were left behind, he never considered doing retreival non-vaginally, which I found out afterwards that he could have.

The reason, I am considering staying is that he does have some of the best success rates in the country, has been written up in Parenting magazine and other similar things. And besides, dont you have better odds if you stay with the same RE? I just dont know, it is all so disheartening, we never really thought about failure. Naive though it may be, we just didnt. For our situation and dx, our RE quoted confirmed success rates of 83% per cycle. I know, there has to be someone in the 17%, I just didnt think it would be us.

Also, I am concerned about using the same lab. They pretty much admitted that three eggs were damaged due to a bad ICSI. Then I found out that of our 14 eggs retreived, all 14 were probably mature. They only did ICSI on 10 because they bill for ICSI in increments of 10. They would have charged us $1250 more for the other 4, is that really thier call???? They should have given us the option, especially since they screwed up some eggs. So of the 14 we got, 10 got ICSI and only 4 ever fertilized. Not good odds, and if they had said it was a quality issue, I would not be upset at all, but that was apparently not the case. On the other hand, RE stats would not be so good if they lab wasnt usually good, is it possible they had a bad day?? If so, sucks for me.

Anyway, sorry for being so long winded. I appreciate anyones insight, advice or experience.

I had a 3 day transfer and my beta is scheduled for 2/11.

pinder - that is GREAT news!! Congratulations!!

tysa - I'm glad to hear that you're considering atleast one more IVF. And, for me personally, I think I might look into another RE. Our first ttc, we used what was supposed to be such a great RE in the nation and was featured in magazines all the time, but turns out she didn't have the best luck with us and didn't follow a very good protocol, and unfortunately, we didn't know much about it at the time. I think if you're second guessing this current RE, that's a big indicator. We are now with a new RE and I feel very confident with him and his staff. I'm praying so hard that this is our BFP, but if we aren't so lucky, I know I trust him enough to use him again.
Good luck with your decision, it's so tough!

    Oopps sorry DMbucky

I don't know Tysa. That seems like a lot of mistakes for one cycle. I think my anger would get the best of me...If I stayed, I might try to get some kind of compensation for their mishandling...both messing up ICSI which is surprising and not asking you about doing full ICSI...wow they charge in increments of 10??? I am also surprised that they gave you a success rate of 87%....although that sounds very appealing, it just doesn't sound realistic to me for anyone. You have to be able to put faith in your docs and not feel uptight that they are going to mess up...if you think it was a fluke and can stay relaxed, follow your gut and go for it...otherwise a 2nd opinion isn't a bad thing. I am so sorry that things were so messed up for you...I know your next cycle will be so much better!!!

Michelle and Pinder- congrats! I don't know how to make things jump around, but the sentiment is the same

I think its game over for us....had a lot of red last night and this am...not making it to the pad, but still there. Still have to wait until Monday, but i"m not optimistic.

Alright, I need to get through this day...

    Good Morning Ladies,

PW & Michelle: CONGRATULATIONS!!! It's official now! I am very happy for you!

Rourek, I'm thinking the spotting is a good sign! 1) It would be way to early for it to be Af since you started bleeding a few days ago right? 2) it's not enough to go on a pad, so it's not AF- it's IMPLANTATION SPOTTING. They say on the net- a pregnancy sign/symptom is bleeding when AF is supposed to be due.

Tysa, I'm sorry to have to say this but this was your first IVF so you may not know. At my clinic, I had to wait until my 3rd AF showed up. If your clinic has the same protocol, (assuming your cycles are 28 days), then you would probably only start your bcp at the end of March.

In regards to your Re, I understand that maybe during your ER complications he could not retrieve the rest of the follicles but the other factors seem to be piling up against him. 1) Like Xtgirl said, a succcess rates of 83% per cycle is just unheard of, 2) being dishonest about the 3 "dead" which they killed, 3) not giving you the choice of icsi'ing the additional 4 follicles that were mature & just assuming or bothering not to do it without your consultation? The right thing to do, on his part, would have been to do the additional 4 follicles at no cost.

If it were me I'd schedule an appointment and discuss/ask about all of these things with him upfront. If I didn't like his answers or attitude and felt uncomfortable/awkward staying with him I'd leave for another RE.If you do leave though, be prepared to maybe lose another month with all the file changes...maybe more tests?

Heather , GOOD LUCK this weekend! Let us know!

As for me, I woke up feeling more pessimistic. I am RIGHT, SMACk in the the middle of this 2ww now- I survived one week but now one more to go! I test next Friday. I feel nothing- no boob tenderness- no cramps anymore. A couple of days ago (like Tuesday & Wed.) I felt crampy- not big ones- but the kind you feel when you know AF is coming very soon. They're completely gone now- so now I'm left with nothing.
