Thigh or stomach--which hurts less

I was wondering which you think hurt less for SubQ. I did my practice injection in the stomach with saline and surprisingly it burned a bit. Does the thigh hurt? I was thinking it would hurt more because I have more muscle there, but I would like to know your opinion.

I would have told you stomach, but this cycle, for some reason, the inner thigh(and even the outer thigh was much better than the stomach. Same needles, same lupron, but hurt so much more in the belly this time.

Try both and see, is all I can say.

I have always done sub-q lupron in the stomach...it has bruised a few times. The only times it hurts is when I hit a nerve cause it takes everything I have to keep the needle in there Hope this helps! Good luck

It will hurt less wherever you have more fat. Make sure wherever is relaxed.

You could ask your nurse for Emla cream. I used it the whole cycle and it helped. It numbs the skin. You circle the spot and put the cream on and cover with a bandaid two hours before your shot. Don't feel it at all. It gets annoying to have to remember to do it 2 hours before so you may not want to bother with it but if you hate needles, it really helps. Or you could use an ice pack for a few seconds as well.

I find the fatty part next to the belly button the most pain free area. Or the thigh. Just make sure you alternate so you don't get sore anywhere. Best of luck to you for your first lupron tomorrow. I already moved you on the list in case I don't get a chance tomorrow.

I do my lupron in the thigh and my folli in the stomach. The lupron does sting afterwards and itch, but it goes away. I do bruise sometimes in the thigh. The thigh hurts more than the stomach, but I have waaayyyy more cushion in the stomach!

I've always been afrid of the thigh and done the stomach. I also have quite a bit of padding in that area soooooooo. I found that as long as you pinch a good amount of skin rather tightly it really doesn't hurt at all. For me it's just working up the nerve to stick the needle in.
