Isabelle & Dawn,
You guys are so great! Thanks for asking about me. I didn't want to post more of my not so pleasentries on the SSS board. SO for reference I'll stick them here.
I just realized that yesterday.. the rose colored glasses came off and I am seeing things in a different light. First the conversation was you have great eggs.. then it was maybe next cycle we can have better eggs to work with.. I heard they retrieved 29 eggs.. then 23.. then 15 fertilized... 17 fertilized... They use a worksheet for EVERYTHING in the office why not one the nurse, embryologist, and RE can directly give an answer from? New concept?
From all of this come to find out... my fertilization rate was way higher... only 20, or so, eggs were mature. But I only had 5 decent embryos to work with. Whole freaking different story. 2 were transfered and 1 made it to blast.
Is this the story they tell you after they realize the cycle failed so that they "have" something to work with??? So now I realize they can't count the amount of eggs in a dish.. so all those sonnos we freak out about are really just an estimate anyway.
He did tell us about a research project, that he is heading, and the rate for Pregnancy is the same w/ IVF in 50,000 cycles for fresh cycles 1,2,3 so if #1 doesn't work it is just a numbers game from there. I believe that was the warm fuzzy part I was suppose to walk away with...
OH FYI the clinic has a bell shaped curve for pregnancy rates and the highest rates are at 34-35. Which I find, interresting, but also a little screwy... ( just for my two research queens)
I heard on the radio today that people were planning weddings today because it is 777. They were having people call in and say what special thing they were doing today. I think you guys are doing the most special thing ever. There are going to be lots of embies and you are both pregnant in a dish today! I know you are both going to be pleasently surprised. Dawn if you have 3 great eggs you are golden and Isabelle you could probably go into embryo donation after this cycle.
Love to you ladies, I am looking forward to your fert reports.
