How early to test?

Okay, I know I won't be testing fora while since I just had my ET yesterday, but since I 'm on bedrest I have way too much time to think about these kinds of things. My question is this: how soon can you reliably test with a HPT after a 5dt? I'm having my beta 10dp5dt but would like to test at home to prepare myself. Thoughts? thanks ladies!

I'm no doctor... But if I were you, I'd say at least 7 day post 5dt...

Just my $0.02 worth!

depending on the brand of HPT..... My beta is actual 9dp5dt.........

Wishing you the best...........

thanks. I have 12 (yes, 12- I bought them from someone online, but they are new and in the original packaging). First Response HPTs in my bathroom just waiting to be used. I'm a little scared to test but on the other hand I just want to know.

I tested at 8dp5dt and got a BFP. I found a chart somewhere on FT that said 6dp5dt is the first day HCG begins to be produced, but I imagine it's a pretty small amount initially. I refused to let myself test any sooner, and even then only first thing in the morning to give me the best chance of good results. Of course I only had 2 tests to work with. I might have started a day earlier if I had 12 . . . But I was terrified of failure and wanted to wait until there was a real chance of good news. Now I'm waiting for my first beta results.

I am 5dp5dt today and started testing yesterday - you can find if you google search many stories of women who get these ridiculously early BFPs - so it's depressing when you don't get one too - But I am trying to be optimistic still - I'll probably take a few more. If I am still - the day before beta, I'll be pretty sure about the resulkts but for now I am just looking for a hint of hope (which I think I may have seen yesterday ..... but I swear I can imagine that second line - it wasn't really there!). Godd luck to us all!!!!!!

Smile UPDATE - possible BFP mentioned

Took a few more test and have 3 tests with very definite second lines on FREDs and one on an EPT. I am 5dp5dt - I am a serial tester so I'll go again tonight once and then again in the morning! I hope the line keeps getting darker!! But I am so thankful it's there at all!
