Antagonist protocol: when do you start BCP?

My RE is going to put me on an Antagonist protocol, with no Lupron...

He said I will start BFP at the beginning of the cycle for 2 weeks, maybe 3. Then come in for US and BW. If all looks good, I start stims...

I'm wondering if that makes sense. If I take 3 weeks of BCP, then I'm about time to have a period... But they will start stims right when I'm about to have a period?

    Does this make sense?

I just finished cycling with the antagonist protocol. My RE had me take about a 5 day break between the bcp and stims. I think my last bcp was on a Tuesday and I started stims that Saturday. I was on bcp for about a month, I have PCOS so he wanted me a little more suppressed.

    Best of luck to you!

mom2b2007- I'm currently doing pretty much what you describe. I started BCP on CD3, and will be on them for 21 days. I'm supposed to go in for baseline u/s and b/w 4 days after my last BCP (whether I have AF or not), and hopefully start stims that night. This is my first IVF. I am not on Lupron either. I've heard that some REs avoid Lupron with older women, as it can sometimes oversupress older ovaries. I'm a little worried though, because some people get oversuppressed from BCP too.
