PIO injection question

Has anyone experienced numbness down the side of your thigh when taking PIO injections? I have been on them two weeks and just started noticing it on both legs. Just a large numb spot on the outside of my thigh, where your leg bends. I have been getting my injections in the gluteal muscle (butt/hip). Any thoughts?

Yep, sorta. I had numb spots on my behind for literally 2 years after I had my last PIO shot! It didn't go down my leg though. I wonder if perhaps you hit your sciatic nerve?

If the numbness is going down your leg/thigh, I would perhaps call your RE today & ask about it. If the numbness is only in the area of the injection, that's normal.

I agree w/ Karen...I bet you hit a nerve. I think I nicked one last cycle b/c I had the same thing...it felt like your leg was asleep. I warm mine up with a warm washcloth before I administer (or DH administers rather). I was so sore it hurt to walk and my RE told me to do it....we use no ice to numb it....wrap a warm washcloth around it for a minute and WAAA LAHHH it doesn't hurt....massage afterwards and use a heating pad...no pain Happy injecting!! Good luck.
