Sorry I don't have an answer, but thank you for asking. This was one of my questions. It sounded like my RE was recommending only 1 to transfer if we made it to blast.
Good Luck!Danielle (32), DH (32)

Ocean ~ I did not have a blast transfered... I had one 8 cell good quality embryo transferred on day 3.. and I got pg.. it was my first IVF.. and now I am 8 weeks pg ..
If it is meant to happen.. just one will be enough

Ocean, I've been here a long time, and I have seen that many, many times. A good friend in fact did NOT want twins. Only a singleton, so she was willing to risk a BFN over twins. She transferred a good quality blast and got preggo.
I also believe that in other countries, Australia comes to mind, single embryo transfers are becoming the norm.
So yes, I've seen it happen very often!

I didn't have a blast for my successful IVF, only a so-so quality 7 celled day 3 embryo. RE wasn't optimistic to put it mildly, but that embryo stuck around and will be 3 yrs old in April!
Good luck!
I do know of a few other single embryo transfer success stories (some by choice, others had only one). I'd say you've got good odds!

I also read an article about European countries pushing to regulate the # of embryo transfer to just 1 for women under 35 .. they say it will help reduce the chances of multiples and also cut down medical expenses that are a result of multiple high risk pg... The study was trying to prove how putting two embryos instead of one does not significantly increase the chance of a woman getting pg.. it simply increases chances of multiples..

Good luck!

Yeah here in the UK they are trying to push 1 embie to be transferred...I WANT twins, I like having my chances increased

As they say, it only takes one and it can may take only 1 for twins as well.
Keep thinking that this IS a GREAT embie to transfer...don't worry about how many are beign transfered

I just transferred a blast on day 5 on Sunday, so I have my doubts too.
But we only wanted to transfer one (didn't want twins) so this is how we wanted it.
now we need to see if it works.
good luck!
