Anyone NOT on bedrest after et?

I just had my transfer this morning. My RE recommended that I don't do anything strenuous today but could return to normal activities tomorrow (not including exercise or strenuous housework etc). I'm trying to stay off my feet as much as possible today and tomorrow (took both days off work), but I'm wondering if it's ok to sit at the table for meals.

Anyone get similar instructions from their RE?

Thanks!
Lora

I haven't had me transfer yet but the RE told me it would be 3 days bed rest. They said it's probably not necessary but you want to feel like you have done everything possible!

Lora,

My RE says two days bed rest, but that doesn't mean that I have to stay in bed! They said just take it easy...relax on the couch and no housework. And avoid going up and down the stairs too much. But I can get up and make myself lunch or stuff like that. I'm sure that sitting at the table for a meal is fine.

Jen,
My RE admits to bedrest being "voodoo" and that they don't really know definitively whether or not it helps. But it can't hurt. It also encourages us ladies to stay off our feet and take it easy. Since that's what you are planning to do anyhoo, I wouldn't worry. Your RE would tell you nothing that would put you in harms way. Good luck.

Thanks Ladies,

I've pretty been on the couch all day wathch On Demand movies and only getting up to go to the bathroom and get something to drink. I feel better now b/c I was worried about moving at all.

Good luck to all of you!

Lora:
My RE is the same as yours...rest in bed the day of E/T, then they told me you could resume normal activities (minus strenuous exercise for the 2ww and sex for 3 days). I stayed home for another day after E/T last time, and didn't do much on day 3 (but did go out to a couple stores).

I think sitting up to eat is fine....I'm convinced I got really constipated after my last IVF because I would eat in bed and didn't do much moving around. You should sit up...to digest!
GOOD LUCK!
JC

After both my ET's, RE said nothing strenuous day of transfer, but if I wanted to go to the mall, go for it! Then resume normal activity, including sex, the next day. I rested at home on day of transfer, and as suggested returned to work the next day (physically strenuous, heavy lifting, pulling, pushing) and both were BFP cycles.....just remember all the "au naturale" pregnancies out there....there were never any limits on what those women did in the days following conception, right?

Best of luck.

lizzardqueen and Jand- I am glad I found your posts.
I was refering to the sex part. My RE was recommending no sex till preg confirmed.
This means 3 weeks after first Beta. I asked twice.
See I wanted to get the party started and my hubby will return in Dec. to a no sex ban? (i haven't seen him in six months!) I think I will go ahwead with the IVF and
plan on a great reunion in every way.
I just don't know why my RE requests such a long pelvis rest period.

Because -- my RE is pretty conservative and he also said no sex or orgasms until the first OB u/s! I think the theory goes that if you have sex or an orgasm you might get uterine contractions which might interfere with implantation. Personally, I think it's definitely one of those "won't hurt" but who knows if it would really help things.
