Crystal--here's hoping AF is nice and easy after all the spotting

DeNeil--I hope AF comes for you quickly! That is weird about starting stims at the end of the week. They just start us usually the night of the baseline (if you're suppressed enough).

I'm very anxious about my appointment tomorrow. I am going to try very, very hard to be there before 7am. Just ONCE I'd like to be first in line. It has yet to happen after going to this RE for almost a year!! It's so crazy, especially b/c the u/s tech isn't even in until 7:15.

I heard about this summer dreams thread on another board!
Well I too am hoping fro our July dream come true! This is my first ivf. It took so long to get started because of high fsh but then it came back down. I started stims on 4th of July. I am on continuing on lupron and I am taking repronex, follistim and dexamethasone. My OR is July 15th which is soon approaching and I hope I get good eggs and I hope I get enough eggs. I worry about that because I am 43. Dh is 31.

I want to send you all big hugs and babydust all around! Lots of it!!!

I had really hoped we would have heard from Apryl by now...I'm just dying to know how it went for her.

Funny story regarding kids at the RE's - The IF clinic that I go to recently hired a new RE to do the IVF's (he's got >10 year experience in IVF at his old clinic). Well one of the conditions that he bargined for in his contract was a separate clinic - the IF clinic used to share the waiting room and reception staff with the rest of women's health (think waiting room full of pg women...you could always spot the women there for IF - they had a look like they might snap at any moment). Anyways the clinic finally got moved to the new location they built - it was great. The RE designed everything including the waiting room which is very private compared to all the other waiting rooms in the building. Long story short the new receptionist picks the movies that play in the waiting room. We went in 2 days in a row for IUI's several months ago and on day 1 we watched Father of the Bride 2 (the one in which both mother and daughter are pg) and the next day she put on Cheaper by the dozen (the family with 12 kids). How clueless is she??? We complained to the RE and they had a talk with the receptionist - the movie choices are much more approriate now. (Not even sure why they have movies, the wait is not usually very long...maybe to break the silence. Do you ever notice how nobody talks in the IF waiting room?)

Hey CrystalAZ - what's your protocol? We're pretty much going through the same thing since I'm technically using DE (although the donor is my wife). Did you have to go to counseling? My clinic states that they require all DE donors and DE recipients to go to counseling - so we have our mandatory session tomorrow. I tried arguing that it's no different than a wife using her husband's sperm to get pg since we are choosing to put her eggs in me but they said it's a DE requirement.

That is so crazy. I agree that in your case, you shouldn't have to do it.

They never made us go through formal counseling. Our RE talked to us some about the decision to go DE, but after all we had been through, we were just 100% on board with it by the time we talked to him so that is as far as it went.

The donor had to go through genetic and psychological screening, but not sure exactly what is involved in that.

Our donor's last day on BCP is tomorrow and she started her Lupron on the 3rd. She is scheduled to start stimming on the 15th and I start Estrace on the 12th in preparation for receiving the embies. Harvest is scheduled for the 26th and transfer for the 29th. I am really excited!

I hope your situation gets easier. There are enough same-sex couples out there that you'd think there would be a standard procedure for things like this!!!

    Crystal

need help ladies. my nurse told me that she had this one very type A patient who, after her IUI, started doing PG tests each day until the hcg from the ovidrel cleared, then she waited a day, and started doing them thru day 15. anyway, i decided this time to try the same thing. but my tests have all been negative!!!! does that mean the ovidrel didn't work? does anyone know? i'm freaking out!

    thx

Amy, How many dpiui are you? What what your dose of Ovidrel? HcG has a half life of 28 hours. So every 28 hours it goes down by half. KWIM? And some people metabolize faster than others.

    Mornin' All!

First off, my summer cold is still kicking, but the Sudafed and Robitussin seem to be helping. I got my repeat baseline today and am praying my estrogen has gone below 45. I don't think it has, though, b/c that one follie on Monday is still there and about the same size I have to wait until the afternoon to get my results, which stinks b/c I won't be able to get anything done today!! Luckily I have nothing to do, so I can dwell Oh, and guess how many kids were in the waiting room today...SEVEN!!!! Hello??? I just think it's the most inconsiderate thing in an RE's office. OH, and I got there at 7:05 (doors open at 7) and I didn't get out of there until 8:15! It's incredible how early these women are getting there now! So needless to say, I'm in a funk already today and it's only 9am.

danzini--Welcome! And good luck!! (PS. I thought I was a cradle robber with 6.5 yrs. difference b/t me and DH, but I think you win that prize ).

Amy--don't worry about getting negatives already. Some women metabolize the HcG quicker than others!!
