I just thought that I would share my experience with all of you and get your opinion.
Today I was at my RE's office for my US and BW. I am in the middle of my first IVF cycle.. I was sitting in the lobby by the door and this couple came from the exam area all excited and went to walk out of the door.. The girl turn to me and said Oh my Goodness I have to tell someone.. She pulled out her Sonogram picture of two sacks.. "She said I can't believe it we are having twins." I told her congrats.. What else could I say.
After she left I just sat there feeling sorry for myself. Can you believe that this woman that I didn't know did this.. I can't believe how insensitive some people can be.. I understand where she is very excited but doesn't she remember when she was in my situation.
Was I wrong to get upset?

Hi Girls,
I started my new job today (the one I'd been waiting to start that has some IVF benefits). The job is great!!! However, I didn't get to log into FT all day today.
I had so much to catch up on when I got home. DP spoke to the RE's office today - we've got somewhat of a plan finally. They said since they are syncing our cycles, that'll it'll take a little longer. We're aiming for ER on August 22nd...I know that makes me an August Poppy (and I'm starting to post there too) but I just like you July girls.
Amy - I'm glad your IUI went well. Good luck on you 2ww!!! With my last IUI cycle, I started POAS on 10dpIUI. My philosophy was that it was better to test everyday and get those bfns than to get my hopes up and get AF without much warning. Well on 12dpIUI, I got my bfp. Unfortunately that pg ended in m/c at 9w3d but that's besides the point. Hopefully this will be your bfp!!!
Momo & Amy - I'm so glad to hear that you didn't have many symptoms on Lupron. I've heard it can make you nutty and not so nice (word that rhymes with witch). I'm dreading both DP and I being on Lupron at the same time. Hopefully we'll do well with it. I at least tend to have minimal side effects to drugs but not DP. Clomid made her super moody, although injectables (bravelle) wasn't too bad.
Beth - Hopefully more follies will develop (that happens all the time). And always remember - it only takes one.
Anne - I'm sorry about your experience at the RE's office. That was very insensitive of her. She sounds pretty clueless and probably got pg on her first IUI or even just on a little bit of clomid. Those women for whom it is fairly easy to get pg, usually are the most clueless. During my brief stint with pg there were several times that I was walking out of the RE's office and wanted to tell those girls in the waiting room, the ones with the long faces, that it really does work! However, obviously I have tact and didn't do that. I always joked that if I had to go to the RE's office while visibly pg (like for an appt for DP) I would wear some sort of T-shirt saying that the child was conceived at that clinic.

anne: she's lucky she saw you and now me--i'd have decked her!
it's just like the people that tell you to chill out and relax, it will happen if you're not stressed. yeah right.
steph: sounds like a plan--i actually got enough to start testing 9 days prior to beta date. i know the first couple will be positive until the ovidrel leaves my system, but then i should get bfn and maybe that will change. who knows?
happy 4th to all!!

Twinklet--Welcome

Anne--I would have probaby decked her too. Either that or broke down in tears!! Or at least asked her "are you seriously showing that to someone in a fertility clinic????" That was extremely insensitive of her to do! You have every right to be upset!!
Steph--Congrats on the new job with IVF benefits!!! We have benefits through my insurance at work too. I do NOT like my job (more bored than anything else, and the money sucks), but b/c they cover unlimited IVF tries, I'm going NOWHERE until we get our baby! I wish you and your DP the best
Sorry you're pushed back until August, but that's not that far off. I hope it goes by very quickly for you
Only 2 more days until my repeat b/w and u/s. PLEASE let it be below 45!!!!!!!!

Checking in...having a great time in Houston w/the family, but anxious to get back home and see hubby and Lucy-cat
. So...I have u/s and bloodwork...uterine sounding (mock transfer) next Tuesday. If all looks good, then I'll start 10 units of Lupron that day. Maybe then I'll feel like things are finally getting officially started
.
Jackie: Sorry that your E2 level is still a bit high. I'm hoping and praying that a few more days of Lupron will do the trick for you on Thursday!!!
Anne: That must have been strange to have a complete stranger come up and share her u/s pic. All I can figure is that she must have been so thrilled and excited that she lost her mind for a moment
. She should have realized that it might be painful for an IVF patient to see another woman's u/s pic...but her excitement must have clouded her judgement. I feel the same way about people who bring babies/little children and have them in the waiting room...reminds me of what I don't have...didn't use to bother me, but does moreso now as the time passes and I don't get my BFP.
I have also used Estrace vag...strange indeed to have blue when you wipe
! I think my doc uses Vivelle dots post-IVF, but need to check. Those are simple enough...just plop one on the butt and you're good to go for several days
. Everyone have a great July 4th...back to check in later!

Wendy--I had estrace (oral and vaginal) but only for the FET. My fresh cycles was just lupron, gonal-f, and progesterone (oh, and medrol and doxycycline--but these were for FET too).
I also hate when patients bring their toddlers/babies to the RE with them. I suppose it should make us feel better to see that it works, but who's to say they even had trouble conceiving that child?? I think they are insensitive as well. Like they're rubbing it in our faces even--though I would HOPE they aren't.Jackie

Does anyone know if there are any foods I should be eating or avoiding to get my estrogen down?? Just curious...even though I doubt there's much I can do in 2 days

Hi Ladies,
A lot has been going on since I last check. Glad to see everything is moving ahead GatorSteph and AKMLAW good luck in your 2ww- Here's to a BFP.
Fireman - sorry you have to stay on lupron a little longer. Here's to Thursday. My B/L if Friday. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I will have my IVF out of state, so I'm trying to get packed. This will be my first time boarding my baby (Maltese - Zeus) so I'm trying to get his bag packed also. I know I know don't laugh at me. But, he's just like my baby.
Everyone else have a get Holiday.

Anne- I'm sorry you had to deal with that woman flaunting her pictures. A lot of people just don't realize how difficult a journey this is for us. You would think some one who went through an IUI or IVF would be a little more sensitive to us.
Steph-Congrats on your new job. That is awesome that you will have IVF benefits.
Thank you to everyone for being so supportive. The RE raised my menopur to 4 powders and I am also on 300 IU of gonal-f.
I hope everyone has a terrific holliday,
Beth
