Question anyone else react to cetrotide?

I just injected my cetrotide for the 2nd night. Last night it was a little stingy and itchy afterwards, and tonight I'm developing raised itchy hives/welts around the injection site. It says on the package insert that you can expect some redness and itching, but I wonder if they mean this?

I haven't had that happen with Cetrocide yet, but I did have red, itchy welt-like patches from Repronex. My RE told me to put some hydrocortisone cream on it, which did help a little. Is it sub-q or IM?

It's sub-q - I was just a little concerned because I have some other drug allergies... Only two more nights, so hopefully I won't go into anaphylactic shock!

I did....mine happened immediately after the injeciton and then lasted for about an hour, until I took some Benadryl. I never had raised welts, but it was extremely itcy under the skin (if that makes sense). I told the nurse about it at my next appointment and she suggested taking the Benadryl at the same time I did the injection. That worked, the next time I didn't have any problems.

    Hope this helps!

    IVF success ment.

Delurking to say that I had the exact same reaction to the Cetrotide ( and PIO). The Cetrotide reaction was red raised welts. I actually had a red patch on my thigh for a while after and it eventually turned purple. It itched like crazy when it went in, and then was fine though it stayed for at least a week as I recall. The good news is that the cycle I used the Cetrotide was the one that worked. I was using different protocols prior, and I was stressed that since my body seemed to not react well to the Cetrotide, that it would not work (you know how you can let everything and anything make you doubtful and worried), but it must have been fine.
I hope your reaction goes away.
